A WONDERFUL DAY IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY!

I was looking for a driver/tour guide to pick me up in Bayonne and drive me around the Basque Country. I was primarily interested in photo opportunities and the history and related stories of the area. Nadège was the perfect choice!

We emailed each other beforehand so she would know what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go. She arrived on time on the appointed day in Bayonne and drove me in her van down the scenic coast to St Jean-de-Luz, a quaint fishing village. She led me on a walking tour of the town, all the while regaling me of much of the history, from the marriage ceremony in the church of Louis XIV to Maria Theresa to Ravel composing his famous “Bolero” while here. We then drove southward to San Sebastián, Spain, where I had been wanting to visit for quite a while. Nadège led me on a walking tour, stopping for pinxtos along the way.

I am impressed with Nadège’s knowledge of the area and its history. Her kind and friendly demeanor made it easy to just relax and enjoy the ride. We spent the better part of a day together and not only did I get to see some beautiful places, I feel like I made a friend in France. If you are looking for a private, bespoke tour in the Basque Country, Ze Chauffeur is the best!

Memorable trip to south western France 2022

Day trip to Biarritz along the coastline.
Great service, great sight seeing.
She knows the Basque Country well and took me to visit cute little towns and villages.
point to point pick up and drop off.
Travel made easy and safe.
Highly recommend anyone planning to visit south western France in groups or solo.

Great experience

Nadege was an excellent chauffeur and helped us set up an itinerary that fit our needs. She was prompt, knowledgeable and very welcoming. She accommodated us with a car seat for my toddler, and even brought her a toy. We had both children and seniors traveling traveling together, which can be very challenging, but Nadege accommodated all our needs.
We started from San Sebastián and toured the southern part of the French border. Very satisfied with our experience.

Biarritz à San Sebastian Return

Nadège was great, met us in the airport and brought our group of 6 from Biarritz to San Sebastian. She gave us great recommendations for sightseeing, delicious food, drinks and lots of fun things to do. She explained all to us and shared the details. She is bilingual and very knowledgeable about the area. She is a lovely friendly person and I would have no hesitation recommending her for tours, sightseeing and all her services. 5 stars ++++ Catherine

Nadege was our diver guide for a day in the French Basque Country. She was extremely knowledgable and informative. Our day was spent visiting towns and farms. She was especially good at translating between a Cheese maker and us relating stories of their sheep and us telling of the farms in our area of the States. Then picking the perfect spot for our lunch and a little music. She was very relaxed and easy going. We hope we can get back to the region and call on her again. We would highly recommend her for your tour of the Basque Country.

Great Time in French Basque region

Nadege provided a fabulous day in the French Basque country. She tailored the stops to our preferences and we had a unique experience watching the milking of the sheep at a local dairy. She also took us to an incredible cave with great crystal formations and ancient rock art. All in all, she is responsive, attentive, and provides a great service

Best days in Pays Basques ever thanks to outperforming Nadège

Nadège really made the very best of the time we spent together. She contacted us upfront to clarify our detailed interests and amount of time. We could get our extra wishes fulfilled in addition to the very well balanced pre-planned program. The agenda was packed with all sorts of highlights from landscape over food to sports. Nadège is such an extraordinary positive, flexible, open-minded, professional, and easy going person, that all of us really felt so comfortable and well cared of. She not only is an excellent driver, calm and knowing all detours, shortcuts, important people on the way, and of course the best scenic viewpoints. She is a unique, wonderful personality, knowing region, speficics of country and people, and is one of the very few truly fluent English speaking guides (spent years in the US), and an exceptional, friendly character. We ended up seeing her not only on the country tour, but booked her also for the coast trip to St Jean de Luz and all transfers. We are so greatful to have made her acquaintance. She donated the best days we had in SouthWest- France to us. The spacy van is now equipped with Covid-19 specific additions, we always felt safe and can recommend Ze Chauffeur 150%
