A wonderful ride! We were well briefed before to fully enjoy the experience! I recommend the route from La Roque Saint Christophe to Les Eyzies (14km). It's very quiet, we're in nature.

Very welcome, we enjoyed the brief historical reminder on the Vézère valley. The advice for use was simple and clear.
The staff was very nice and available.

Very nice and Ace team.
Going back by canoe to the base is a real plus (you can go at your own pace, no waiting to return to your vehicle).
The equipment is clean and in good condition.
And the Vezere is magical for a nature walk.

Quiet serenity, beautiful scenery, swimming and drift along the Vézère is really cool, the Award is not excessive, the welcome is very nice, you can go there with your eyes closed

So it exists : a very well organized kayak rental with a friendly welcome and enthusiastic, polite staff who help you get in very well and are also ready when you arrive, best experience in kayak rental

We visited the site the same morning and hired a kayak that afternoon. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable giving clear safety instructions.
We had a fabulous time exploring the river and even managed to spot a few kingfishers.

Just spent the best day canoeing on the Vezere river on a craft supplied by this wonderful outfit. All the equipment was of very high quality, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
First thing to note is that the Vezere is a much less ‘human’ river than the Dordogne; there are a few manmade “things” along the way - more prehistoric than modern - but the majority of the way is forest on both sides and very natural. A different experience to the Dordogne that may or may not appeal more to you. Also, in high summer I am told it remains quiet - at least compared to its larger neighbour.
The base is right on the river next to Les Eyzies and they offer various start points. We chose the second longest route at around 4 hours. The team drove us to the start point and helped us set off, and just over 4 hours later we arrived back at the start point. We were told we could take as long as we wanted so long as we were back by 6. This is much more laid back than some operators where the base is either inland, somewhere in the middle or at the start of the route and you need to get to your end point at a particular time to be picked up.
As a result, it was fabulously relaxing.
Highly recommended.

The two of us went on a wonderful canoe trip on the Vezere. Pure nature, an absolute idyll, it couldn't be more beautiful. Also suitable for beginners. The landlords were very friendly, competent and helpful. Just the thing for a relaxing day.

Superb descent of the Vézère between St-Leon-sur-Vezere and Les Eyzies. The best way to discover the river and the troglodyte cliffs! Very welcoming and professional manager. Effective organization.

Very attentive manager, who called us the day before given the cool weather conditions and risk of rain to inform us and find out if we were still motivated.
Appointment held for Wednesday morning for a 4-hour walk with 20 km to complete. Clear explanations on the descent, but also on safety, for our eleven year old son who was not very reassured.
Dropped off by mini bus from Saint Léon sur Vézère, we embark for almost 5 hours of tranquility, silence, wonderful landscapes throughout our descent, with a lunch break.
Summary of our day, happy parents playing like kids between the branches or under the rocks, at the request of our son, totally reassured and smiling.
Pure happiness for the three of us and our unanimous best memory because truly alone on the Vézère and with no time limit.
We recommend with your eyes closed.
Thank you and good luck for the coming season.

I do not drive.How to reach from Sarlat ? Also can you tell me the timings ?

I am 76 and traveling alone. I used to canoe and kayak for miles every day, but now I am not as strong. Is it possible to drift down the river with a minimum of paddling--mainly steering? Thanks, KVB

Yes, we can take réservation by mail sur notre site, can you tell me how many people you are, which duration you wish to make and at what time.
I'm sorry, we do not have the possibility of cooking, generally, our customers pass to the grocer's shop of Eyzies before the canoe.

Is the water shallow? We have two children (7yrs and 9yrs) who can swim but not very confidently. Can you recommend this stretch of river for them?
