This is a wonderful shop! We could’ve spent all day there. The owner is so nice and so is his white Labrador that greets you upon entering. The wine selection is great and there are so many things you’d want for your own kitchen.

My husband and I were recommended to try the cooking class in Beune - run by a mother/daughter team who have lived there for many years, they do an amazing job in not only teaching you some key tips for French cooking, but showing you how they locally source food, ensure it is sustainable and top it all off with a lovely meal which we helped prepare.

We were recently in Beaune a few weeks ago and had the chance to attending "A Day in Burgundy" cooking class. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet, the class was organized perfectly and the food was also amazing! The store is stunning, I wanted to buy one of everything, but luckily they have an online shop as well! If you are headed to Burgundy/Beaune this is a MUST DO. Book early, there's only 10 people per class!!

What a way to spend a day. We loved this class and highly recommend it. It was hands-on without being too much, and we learned a ton of tips to take home. The meal was delicious, the people were lovely, the wine was phenomenal, and the space was aesthetically stunning. We’d sign up for another class tomorrow if we could!
Can’t wait to try out Marjorie and Kendall’s cookbook once we arrive home.

We did the market tour cooking class at the Cooks Atelier and it was our favorite thing we did during our stay in Beaune (and one of the best organized and friendliest cooking classes we have done). It was an ambitious menu and while all the participants had different skill levels, they made sure everybody participated and we all learned several things without being too teachy. They’ve done a great job of splitting up duties in order to Lee things moving and multi tasked in several dishes so not too drawn out. They also did a few things themselves (prep in advance or finishing a dish while we started the meal). They also had people fixing coffees as requested and cleaning up throughout so you felt the kitchen was clean and comfortable.
The space is amazing with the bright kitchen and a lovely dining room upstairs. The ground floor has an incredibly well curated shop (we bought a bunch, not because they were pushy but because numerous items are amazing tools you would use cooking at home). It’s truly a family affair with Marjorie, Kendall and Laurent working as a team and it shows how close they are as a family (loved when Kendall’s daughter popped up right as the gougeres were being served).
Our menu included several starters, gougeres, cheese soufflé, Cote d Bouef and a plum tart (capped off with fresh made madeleines they prepared). It was delicious and generous without being gluttonous.....and the wines paired with the meal were wonderful.

Jennifer and I spent our honeymoon in France and one of the absolute highlights was the day spent at The Cook's Atelier. We, along with about 10 others, shopped for, prepared and consumed a delicious traditional and seasonally appropriate French menu under the able guidance and direction of Marjorie and Kendall. We learned so much and the atmosphere created in the kitchen and at the table allowed all of the guests to enjoy and become acquainted. We walked into the Cook's Atelier as customers and left feeling like part of this amazing family. I can't recommend them strongly enough. Last thing: buy the cookbook! The pictures and recipes will transport you back to Beaune...

We went with our adult daughter and had a wonderful day learning French cooking. Delicious lunch and wine pairing. I highly recommend!

Had “the best day” today! I try to take a cooking class when I travel. I took this class with my husband and throughly enjoyed the experience. Loved Marjorie and Kendall and felt like a part of their family. Great food, wine, and fellow participants. A must do,

Charming shop with the BEST coffee in Beaune—that should get you in the door and then you will be smitten. The owners’ story and charm and warmth was wonderful. They are transplanted Americans married to a n engaging French man-successively and passionately building a business of passion for all that is Burgundy. We will definitely come back for their courses—my wife is an active foodie (me-passive-I eat:-). And the description of the classes shows how they would be exceptional for any level of chef from beginner (even me) to expert.

Thank you for your note and your interest in The Cook's Atelier. We offer "A Day in Burgundy - market tour and cooking class program" on Wednesdays and Saturdays, market days in Beaune. However, we will not be offering any cooking classes during the week of December 21. However, the atelier will be open and we'd love to have you stop by and say hello.
