We came for the 1st time, (October 9, 2022) and were saddened , sickened and shocked. In the third race horse (No. 9) was severely injured. It could not stand up or walk, after a falling during a jump. And more than 6 jockeys and their horses also fell in the other races. We have never seen a sport where so many falls, injuries and emergency squads were used. Was the number 9 horse euthanized or was he saved, we do not know
So, we read about venues, like the Hippodrome d'Auteuil. This sport is being outlawed and phased out in many countries.
If we had known how much horse jump racing sports, cause so many risks to racehorses, which result in significant pain, injury, and death, we would not have come.
They don't want you know about the injuries or falls. They held up a huge green screen, so we could not see the final loading of the seriously injured horse. As well, the camera coverage doesn't show a lot about when jockeys fall and horses tumble.
I think Hippodrome d’Auteuil knows the sport of steeple chasing is in decline. And they try to attract family's there, with things to do outside the stands. There have: a horse merry-merry-go round, stuffed horses to ride; bouncy horse game, and even Shetland ponies to ride to attract a new market (i.e. young families) . BUT they do DIVERT OUR ATTENTION FROM THE WHIPPING, STUMBLING, AND THE PAIN TO HORSES. They should be telling us the number of injuries to jockeys and horses and death or euthanasia at their facilities - by facility.

Superbe après midi aux courses avec un super programme : 3 groupes 1 au rendez-vous. En revanche, le système mis en place pour les entrées est assez ahurissant : on a l'impression que tout est fait pour accentuer la désaffection des champs de courses.

El Templo de las carreras de caballos con obstáculos, bien merece una visita un día de carreras para disfrutar del ambiente y observar las carreras desde sus gradas rehabilitadas manteniendo su vetusta arquitectura. Delicioso el espacio para observar a los caballos y jinetes antes de cada prueba, con la reproducción de 2 obstáculos míticos y la preciosa escultura del caballo Al Capone II. El resto, como es habitual en un Hipódromo, consagrado al mundo de las apuestas. Cuidados y diseñados jardines interiores. Entrada 5€.

Attended the 48h L'Obstacle. 2 days of good quality racing. A 2 day ticket for a seat in the stand overlooking the finishing line was €19. Free racecards on both days. Good food and drink options which are actually cheaper than most of Paris tourist spots i.e 500ml lager €6
Use the tote automated betting machines and there is a English option on there.
Metro station outside the racecourse means it's very easy to find. (Line 10 to Boulogne, station Porte D'Auteuil).

Super journée ,beau spectacle sportif ! Toujours un plaisir d'aller voir les courses dans ce coin de verdure Parisien. J'aime l'ambiance par endroits guindé et d'autres populaire, contraste étonnant mais sympathique. Seul bémol sur l'intérieur des tribunes un peu vétuste .

Brilliant afternoon of National Hunt racing at this easy to access racecourse.
Plenty of food and beverage outlets on course. No problems getting cabs after. Go with the kids as there are lots of exhibits with children in mind!
Nearest Metro Porte D'Auteuil. From The Trocadero you can get a 32 bus there too, which gives you a clearer idea of your bearings.
If you have a Racehorse Owners Badge you will almost always get free entry. Be warned tho, you do have to pre book the Owners & Trainers' area even if you have a runner.

Ich war schon mehrfach auf der Rennbahn Auteuil, aber heute zum ersten mal zu einem absoluten Highlight der Saison: Dem Prix La Haye Jousselin, ein Gruppe I Jagdrennen dotiert mit 550.000 €. Es war ein schöner Renntag und eine tolle Stimmung auf der Bahn. Es gewann der Favorit Milord Thomas unter Jockey Jacques Ricou! Ich kann es jedem Galoppsportfreund nur empfehlen!

Hi guys,
Will be in paris around Arc & following weekend. Any ideas about Auteuil ticketing, if there are different categories etc? Basically any advice would be helpful. France galop website isnt particularly helpful
