We were a group of five adults and booked this tour on Monday, March 13, 2023. Tong was our guide and he was excellent! Not only was he a trained sommelier, but he also owned and operated a champagne vineyard himself. He had excellent contacts and knowledge about everything French. We were able to visit a family vineyard that had been operating for over a hundred years and also Pommery. I will not spoil the surprise, but if you have not visited Pommery on your trip to France, you are missing a wonderful treat. We had excellent champagne, we learned all about the process of making champagne. Tong treated us to a fabulous, very authentic 3-course French lunch, plus the visit to Reims with time to roam and explore. Truly one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. Plus we were picked up from and taken back to our hotel. This is also one of the best priced options, too. Highly recommend!

Champagne is within easy reach from Paris, 90 miles North East Paris, 45 minutes by the fast train and 2 hours by car. Two hours sounds long, but trust me, it’ll go by quickly and includes espresso, tea, artisanal baked goods, chocolate and amazing views of the French countryside. A HUGE plus, you get picked up and dropped off at your door- no knowledge of navigating the area necessary.
Trong has immense knowledge of France and Champagne. This is so much more than a champagne tasting. The day is filled with the history of the town and the process of making Champagne. You get to visit vineyards of the most prestigious brands and get a sneak peak of the manufacturing process. You tour Champagne and learn of its history.
Then we had the most incredible lunch prepared by a (former) 2 Michelin star chef. If possible, request to visit Pommery. Hands down, one of the most unique places I’ve ever seen. An immersive art experience of a lifetime- and I do not exaggerate! It literary took my breath away! The ride home is relaxing. The van is very comfortable. Trong has a heart of gold and has lived a very interesting, full life with stories he shares with you along the way.
I have recommended this to all my friends, so please take my advice and book this experience!!

This was such an amazing day trip from Paris! Trong was an amazing and thoughtful guide. You are picked up at your hotel and given an amazing breakfast with fresh coffee and tea in the van and then Trong takes you to a wine grower. Once there, we were able to try 4 different champagnes and Trong and the wine grower explain the differences and how you can taste them. My friend and I ended up buying a bottle! Then you get to go to an amazing traditional french lunch, all- inclusive. From there, Trong takes you to the Reims cathedral which was absolutely breathtaking and he explains the history of Reims and the cathedral and the stained glass window inside. After this our last stop of the Pommpery champagne tasting. Here, Trong picked out 3 different champagnes for us to taste, each one getting better and we also were able to walk underground where its all kept. Trong is one of the reasons this trip was amazing, he was so thoughtful and took pictures of my friend and I. He made sure we understood what he was saying and wanted us to be comfortable. When I come back to Paris I would definitely do this again! ITS A MUST and a GREAT price!!!

We were really happy we did this! We loved seeing the countryside and learning about champagne, the lunch was delicious, the cathedral was amazing, the Pommery cellars were so cool, we enjoyed our tastings, and Trong was such a kind and thoughtful guide! Plus it was very convenient with the hotel drop off.

Brilliant day with our amazing guide Trong. Who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and made our day so memorable. The visit to Jean Claude Mouzon champagne house was very interesting, who knew how much work went into that glass of fizz that you sip on. Their champagne is excellent - some of the best I have tasted. The visit to the cathedral in Reims was a fantastic addition to the trip. Trong went above and beyond to make our day really individual and we had a day of special memories.

This trip provides a full day's visit to Champagne - including a fascinating trip to a small producer as well as a household name. We were collected from the door of our hotel and returned there 12 hours later. Our guide, Trong's, enthusiasm, local knowledge and overall expertise made it a fantastic day's introduction to the Champagne region. With lunch and two tastings it represents excellent value and we would definitely recommend it.

You will love this tour! It’s a small group experience, which means you get excellent personalized time with your guide and the wine makers. The team thought of everything you need and were incredibly hospitable! Don’t look any further - book this day trip now. It’s a must visit on any trip to Paris!!

This is the best Champagne tour! I found this company in 2009 and have taken the tour several times. Trong is a great guide & super caring, along with being a local farmer as well. He picks you up at your Paris hotel, gets you to Reims safely, treats you to a small local Champagne house, a fantastic lunch at a local restaurant, brings you to a larger Champagne house (Pommery is the best tour, with Tattinger second, and Ruinart third on my list), and then the beautiful cathedral. After the tour is done, he gets you back to your Paris hotel safely. Real VIP service! So happy I found Trong and consider him one of my Parisian friends!

I would HIGHLY recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in, or loves, champagne. Firstly, the tour is very easy to get to from Paris. The groups are small, they will pick you up where you're staying, and take you door to door. The family champagne producer is wonderful, and shows you the entire process, plus she opened an extra bottle for us to taste!
What makes this tour truly remarkable however is the guide, Trong, is highly knowledgable about Champagne's history and culture. He is kind, funny, and goes out of his way to make the entire trip a wonderful experience. This was actually my second time on this tour, and I am so happy I went back again. Trong even bought my girlfriend and I a bottle of champagne and brought us some treats (cheese, chocolate, meats...) from his wife since I was a returning customer!
10/10 would recommend!

Hello. Its a full day of non stop, sampling, learning about the area history & culture and champagne production, seeing beautiful country side, a delicious authentic french lunch. With a complete round trip pick up and drop off at your Paris hotel. Well worth the cost. Truly the best tour we have ever been on. You will treasure the memories.

I don't remember the cost---maybe 200 per person, but you have no driving and I felt a great guide. there are only two Champagne farms visited, but one is a mom and pop shop where---I felt---I bought the most flavorful champagne

Yes
I think it can with advance notice. I felt the restaurant where we ate for lunch would do anything. I feel this company is very accommodating.
They did have soup and salads at the lunch location.
Ask them now
They did book up quite fast
We were very pleased with the whole operation mostly no driving, parking, thinking ahead .... all done for u

We pick up and drop off at our clients’ hotels or apartments in Paris. Our clients visit the vineyards and a small champagne producer’s in the morning, a large champagne house (Taittinger or Pommery) and the Reims cathedral in the afternoon. Breakfast, lunch and 2 champagne tasting sessions are also included in the tour. Anyway, you have all details on our website. Lastly, we have available spots in June. Have a great time in France ! I'm travelling to Paris for my 50th in March. I have osteoarthritic knees which can make steps my enemy if they are deep. Could you please tell me the average depth of each step in a winery. Many thanks

I would suggest contacting the vineyards to see if they have a lift. Tattinger wines have a lift so no problem there. One of the small family owned vineyards we visited was fantastic but the spiral staircase could be a bit steep. I wouldn’t let this put you off though as it is not essential that you go below to look at the wines as they have their tastings and speech at ground level. If booking with Champagne Tours ask them for information as they are very helpful. Good luck.

Bonjour,
Good idea to go to Champagne ! Howerver, Paris Champagne Tour does not organize half day tours to Champagne. We have full day tours by the fast train or by the minivan. You can take the 2 hour city walk tour in Reims with my co worker Stéphanie.
For your half day, you should take the early fast train at the train station gare de l'Est, then you arrive to Reims 45 minutes later, then book a cellar tour at Mumm or Taittinger or Pommery, then you can have a look at the Reims Cathedral before taking the train back to Paris. Anyway, half day is too short. Best wishes for your year-end festivities. Trong
