While in Paris for a week we came here for both Sunday mass and a musical event held in the church.
The mass was very reverend and well attended. Lots of families. Very happy congregation and obviously very fond of the parish priests who were engaged on conversation for 30 minutes outside after mass. The church is undergoing restoration but is open, you just have to look for the side entrance. Very historic and very beautiful inside.
Of you are in Paris look for the Paris Church Concerts. The tickets can be bought on line and are cheap.

I was out walking on Ile St. Louis visiting the places I remembered when we lived there. I stopped in this big church, the parish church for the island. It's in great shape and there was a free concert going on.

Style baroque français du 17 ème siècle, enclavée dans des immeubles. Malheureusement toujours en cours de restauration !!! Jusqu’au 17 ème, l’Ile St Louis était inhabitée … riches décors intérieurs avec de multiples dorures . Commencée en 1664 et achevée en 1726 . Curieux clocher qui abrite une horloge perpendiculaire à la rue , hélas cachée par les échafaudages. Dédiée à St Louis qui a régné sur la France sous le nom de Louis IX . Des concerts y ont lieu régulièrement.

We once attended a concert here and it is a good place for that. It's the big parish church, very big with all the special touches. Not especially important or beautiful, but an important part of the neighborhood.

É diferente de outras, porque não é um ponto turístico, é uma igreja para os fiéis da ilha.
Tive a oportunidade de conhecê-la na Nuit Blanche, quando assisti um concerto de órgão, magnífico, um som puro, um momento de paz. Como estava na penumbra não deu para observar detalhes do seu interior.

Cette église située dans l'île Saint-Louis n'est pas forcément plus remarquable ou moins remarquable qu'une autre église. Globalement, c'est une belle église actuellement en rénovation. C'est la mairie de Paris qui finance d'ailleurs ces travaux.
Elle se distingue surtout car elle est dédiée au roi Louis IX dit Saint-Louis qui venait prier sur cette île du temps où, bien entendu, il ne s'agissait que d'un coin de nature sauvage et inhabité. Saint-Louis est omniprésent dans l'église avec une très belle statue de plein pied et des peintures colorées qui mettent en scène le roi.
Cette église projette donc sur cette île parisienne un reflet de l'histoire de France teinté de beaucoup de tradition et de grandeur. Il serait bon sans doute que nos élites de toutes sortes viennent murmurer à l'oreille du roi pour s'imprégner de sa droiture et de sa vision pour la France.

シテ島の隣りサンルイ島にある教会で、島のメインストリートに沿って建っています。私が訪れた時は修復工事中で外側が覆われていたゆえ閉まっているのかと思いましたが、中に入れました。パリの他の教会と違わず内陣は豪華でした。日本人の方々が何人かいて写真を撮ったりしていたので、その中の袴姿の方に何事かと尋ねると、そこで書道の実演イベントをされたとのことでした。サンルイ島自体は静かな住宅街で、そぞろ歩きを楽しめます。
この教会の前の道をひたすら真っ直ぐ進むとシテ島で、火事で焼けてしまったノートルダム大聖堂の痛々しい姿を拝むことが出来ました。付近のカフェやお土産物屋も商売上がったりで気の毒だと思いました。

Malgré les travaux on peut visiter ce lieu de culte, et quelle belle surprise.
Une magnifique coupole !
De jolis vitraux, la lumière arrive à y pénétrer.

The church is being renovated, but remains open and active. There are numerous events held there, so check the boards. Nice, quiet spot to visit while strolling the island. Larger and more impressive than one might expect for a neighborhood church.
