Het decor van Place Stanislas. Imposant! Het tourist Office is erin gevestigd. In de zomer vindt er een mooie lichtshow plaats, laat op de avond. Het plein vult zich met toeschouwers. Erg sfeervol.

Beautiful architecture surrounded by a square full of amazing historic buildings and gold-gilded decorative gateways with a huge entrance “porte”/gateway.
Definitely worth a visit. You can sit and admire it from many bars and cafés if you want. The Tourist information office is in the corner of the building.

ce palais qui trône sur la place Stanislas, est absolument magnifique, nous avons assisté à la vidéo projection sur la façade de l'édifice de la légende de St Nicolas lors des fêtes de la saint Nicolas ( l'un des évènement majeurs de la ville de Nancy).

Un hotel de Ville sicuramente molto bello e imponente. Si trova sulla piazza principale della città e occupa un intero lato quindi non potete non vederlo. Davvero una costruzione imponente che vuole far capire immediatamente che lo Stato è una parte importante della cultura francese,

Au niveau de la place Stanislas se trouve l'hôtel de ville. Très bel ensemble à découvrir à deux pas de la gare.

Niet alleen het plein is prachtig maar ook dit gebouw. Het is er een van een aantal om het plein. Prachtig om te zien, vooral in de avond.

With a length of almost 100m the Hotel de Ville is the largest building on beautiful Place Stanislas. It takes over almost the whole southern side and is a work by Duke Stanislas' chief architect Emmanuel Héré, who was responsible of most constructions around here. The style is neoclassicism with baroque elements.
It is worthwhile to look at some details of the exterior, even sideways from one of the outdoor tables of the Grand Café Foy. Thus one will see that the front is not just one line, but is broken up with three hardly visible avant-corps. There are balconies with gilded iron work by Jean Lamour, who also did the gates at the four corners of Place Stanislas.
The central avant-corps is topped by a pediment with a clock on top and there again are the flags of Lorraine, France and Europe. On the two sides of the clock are statues of the personified Justice and Prudence. And underneath the pediment is a relief with the coat of arms of Nancy, held by a woman and a genie.
From its opening in the mid-18th century till today the building serves as town hall. Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to visit its interior.
