Het gebouw is van buiten prachtig, maar de binnenkant is een bezoek ook meer dan waard. De boekenmarkt is echt charmant, bij goed weer is het hier zalig toeven.

A must see if visiting Lille, located by the main square and the theater square. The old stock exchange is a great example of renaissance/ Flemish influence. You can find old coins/maps/books for sale.

Très bel édifice sur la grand-place de Lille. Il faut absolument y entrer, ça vaut le coup d’œil. Il faut prendre le temps de lire les biographies sur les murs à l'intérieur.

Endroit très sympathique où l’on peut trouver beaucoup de choses pour pas cher ! Que ce soient des vieux livres, des affiches de Lille, de films, des pin’s, des vieux jouets… endroit très bien situé !

We visited The Old Stock Exchange as part of a self guided walk of this beautiful city.
It is definitely worth a visit with its Renaissance Flemish architecture, columns adorned with garlands and at the top of the bell tower a golden image of the god Mercury. It consists of a quadrangle of twenty four lookalike houses surrounding a large courtyard where today you will find florists, book stall holders, record and coin collectors and people selling old fashion board games, all plying their trade.
Meanwhile locals gather at the adjacent eateries and even the odd game of chess is being played, under cover from the raindrops.
Again it is full of atmosphere, a bit like a step back into a bygone era.

Endroit magique, on plonge dans le temps, les bouquinistes sont là, le décor est planté.
Monument parfaitement entretenu, ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas
