I'll be scathingly honest on this one. The cote d'azur is peppered with charming old towns and seaside old towns. So, as a longtime resident of the golfe of St Tropez, I don't quite understand the hype. Sure, it's pretty, but it's nothing special. The alleys aren't as colourful as Saint tropez, Ramatuelle, or Bormes. The houses aren't as ancient (or at least ancient-looking) as Eze, Saint Paul De Vence, St-Agnes, or Coaraze. I could continue of all the areas in which it just isn't a contender. It just doesn't have a "wow"factor so strong it makes the hordes insignificant.

We parked at the underground parking by h the marina and Old Town - this was easy, spacious and very clean. We went to the Ferris wheel to see the area, but it wasn’t operational that afternoon. We walked to the Promenade on the medieval wall and wanted to see “The Nomad” scull, but it was blocked off for renovations. We walked past the Picasso museum and seeing the line up to get in, we passed by, but the outside was nice (old church). Inside the Old Town, I tried to buy a few postcards and small items with my card, but I was told ver rudely on 2 businesses, that there was a 6euro minimum unless you had cash. It was very jarring to be treated this way, but they mustn’t have needed any of my small business. We decided to have a gelato at a spot and left the town.

Petite ville tellement attachante en bord de mer. L’atmosphère y est agréable et apaisante. On y retourne de l’histoire visible par les remparts notamment, la mer, le ciel bleu et les montagnes enneigées au loin. La longue rue commerçante mène au port et nous fait voyager dans divers commerces typiques et variés. Réel coup de cœur pour cette vieille ville d’Antibes.

Wer in Antibes ist sollte unbedingt durch die Gassen der Altstadt schlendern. Viele Geschäfte und Restaurants warten auf den Besucher. Absolut sehenswert!

Amazing ‘vibe’ when walking around the old town and ramparts. The scenery both inside the town and ramparts are amazing; especially the architecture of the buildings. Great views from the terraces across the bay and along the coast.

You must visit Antibes old town fantastic, narrow streets plenty of bars and restaurants. The market from early in the morning till early afternoon is fantastic meat cheese, vegetables spices you name it it’s here early evening. The market is cleared and the restaurants put out all their tables and chairs out for the evening diners . there is a public beach on the other side of the old town wall. as well as the marina full of expensive boats, don’t miss it.

Great area for walking and enjoying the streets and buildings. It's true in many respects that Antibes has kept its soul whereas nearby Cannes no longer resembles what it once was. Nice spots for walking in the shade with eateries, shops, and sites.

I think you won't face an issue with it because there are no hills/slopes or stairs you'll have to climb up within the city. If you take it easy, I think you'll be able to enjoy the beauty of old town. Plus there are a lot of bistros/cafe in the 2-3 main squares of old town where you can have a rest while enjoying the scenery and its people
