Thank you Philipp!
Philipp was very informative. We enjoyed our tour of Heidelberg. In hindsight we probably should have booked a longer tour to allow for more things to be included but obviously that was our mistake. Nonetheless if you are short on time I highly recommend the 1 hr tour.

Perfect private tour with Henri
We had an absolute perfect day touring with Henri of Heidelberg. We were 8 couples on a Viking Rhine cruise. While we love Viking, 4 couples wanted to go to Heidelberg instead of the Biking offered excursions. I contacted Henri several months in advance to see if it was possible since our boat docked briefly in Speyer before dropping off passengers and then continuing on to Rudesheim. Henri rented a van for us, met us at the dock and took us on a tour of the Romanesque cathedral in Speyer. After a few more sites we continued on to Heidelberg. He walked us around the Old Town, we saw all the sites and he explained the history of the area. Then up the funicular to Heidelberg castle where we toured. Since it was one couple anniversary that day, I had arranged ahead of time with Henri for local sect in the castle to toast our friends. He set it up with the castle winery and we had a wonderful time drinking with and toasting our friends. Afterwards we toured some more and Henri recommended a local Bauhaus (brewed their own beer) for lunch. Food and drink was fantastic! Then we walked around the University, the old bridge and even had time for a few shops. Henri then drove up to Rudesheim & walked us to the dock to make sure we got safely on board. It was our favorite day of the cruise!!! Henri has my highest recommendation!!!!!

Interesting personable Guide! We highly recommend Henry!

Henry was such a delight that we booked 2 guided tours with him, the first in Old Heidelberg & the next day we rebooked for a drive with him along the Neckar River to a village nearby to see 4 Castles. That morning we joined 2 lovely British ladies we’d already met due to Henry knowing we all were staying at the same hotel which was very nice too. It was an outdoor motor tour & quite interesting. Henry is well versed in German history and culture. He was very personable, knows the best local restaurants & bakeries and was a good communicator. Henry is British & has lived & worked in Heidelberg more than ten years so he definitely knows the area & all the interesting places anyone would want to see. We highly recommended Henry to guide your tour of choice while visiting beautiful Heidelberg!

Relaxed yet informative day with an “old friend”!
Our day touring Heidelberg with Henry was exactly what we had hoped for. He was quick to read us & geared our day to what we wanted to see. We felt as if we met up with an old friend & toured his hometown. We appreciated the local vibe. We HIGHLY recommend booking with Henry. You will not be disappointed!

Heidelberg and along the Neckar

Henry takes small tours which are original, stimulating, challenging (he asks questions!) and really opens the way to loving Heidelberg.. and wanting to explore more of it. Took us the second day on a driving tour of the Neckar to two local villages.. both were wonderful insights. I truly recommend.

Henry was great!

We thought Henry was great. Starting off with a walking tour in Heidelberg, we got to know the city very well. And had ample time to see the castle and walked the grounds at our leisure. He was very knowledgeable of all things seen that day, including the Black Forest. He took us a good time to avoid crowds and made sure we had time to do the things we wanted to (Black Forest cake, wineries). We were comfortable enough with him where we could call him friend. Highly recommend. He loves Elvis.

Tour operator was amazing but disappointed in the wine tasting

Hi there,

Bela was amazing however we were supposed to go to the castle winery we ended up going to a pub where we waited a significant amount of time and then they brought 5 full glasses of wine each and could only drink one glass. I would have purchased the lower price one for 2 glasses. We also did find out we could have had wine at the castle.
Can I respectfully ask you refund the higher priced tour and just charge us for the 2 lower priced tour I believe at 134 Euros.

Hello Susan, Thanks for taking the time to write a review and I wan very sorry to hear that your experience, re: the winetasting, did not live up to your expectations. Please allow me to explain a few things; just before your tour I called the Castle wine somellier to double check that he wd be ready for you. Unfortunately he informed that his brother had just received a very bad medical diagnosis and that he wd now not be able to perform your winetasting. This was obviously a regrettable setback to your tour. In response I asked your guide Bela to explain this situation to you before the tour and offer you the option of cancelling the winetasting part of the tour or to do it a bit ad hoc in a bar in the Old Town. I believe you chose the second option(?) It seems they were unusually busy on that afternoon and you had a longer wait than usual for your wine. Of course I sincerely apologize for this. Re: a potential refund I would be very happy to discuss this further with you privately through TripAdvisor. Again I am very sorry that your tour was effected by this unfortunate & unexpected sudden development. Yours sincerely, Henry.

Heidelberg on a casual tour
Henry was an awesome tour guide and owner. It was just me and my wife with him. Tour was casual and we hit all the high points of the old town and the castle

Great tour with Henry

Such a lovely experience. Henry was so pleasant, knowledgeable and well prepared to be our guide. He even took a short detour through the pharmacy museum after I expressed interest.
