We visited during the Easter holidays whilst visiting my wife’s family in Cottbus. Despite visiting Cottbus for 11 years I had never been here. Quite a gem! Our family were the only people in the museum at the time and we were lucky enough to have the museum director virtually give a personal guided tour of the exhibits. He was keen for my children to enjoy the museum. We were also lucky enough to see some ‘behind the scenes’ parts of he building and learnt about its history too. There was a wonderful question sheet for my boys to do which made them engage with what was on show a little more (this would be a problem if you didn’t speak/read German) and they got a small prize for completing it.
We visited as part of our Museumskarte Cottbus purchase. This makes it very affordable to visit all the museums in the city for €15 per adult and gives you a year to fit them all in.
