Great museum if you are interested in learning about Chocolate. There is so much information on Cocoa and the process of Chocolate making plus Tasting. A highlight is also to taste Chocolate from the Chocolate fountain! Highly recommend the Guided Public tour. We spent about 2 Hours at the museum and a visit to the Chocolate shop is a must.

Me esperaba algo mejor por 14,50€ te enseñan como fabrican el chocolate desde el principio hasta final en la tienda. Pasando por la fabricacion, puesta en moldes, algo de historia del chocolatey despues chocolates de lint

A kids dream..
A great and informative couple of hours exploring the history of chocolate and how it's made. The kids loved the heated conservatory and seeing the chocolate being made in the factory. Definitely worth a visit if in cologne.

Per golosi di cioccolato.

Entrata a 14,50 € a persona, un pò caro ma si possono fare alcuni assaggi di cioccolatini.
Il museo si trova facilmente ed è in una posizione strategica vicino al fiume Reno.
Il museo è sicuramente carino, molto adatto a famiglie con bambini.

Informativ gut, ansonsten mangelhaft, überteuert und unfreundliches Personal.

Erstmal das Positive:
- Das Museum ist aus fachlicher Sicht interessant. Es gibt viele Informationen (leider zu viel schriftlich und zu wenig interaktiv, sodass man fast nur am Lesen ist).
- Der Shop ist reichhaltig mit unterschiedlichen Schokoprodukten ausgestattet.
Zu dem Negativen:
- Für ein Schokoladenmuseum wäre es für mich persönlich ein Muss, etwas Schokolade schmecken zu dürfen (hier war es gerade mal ein einziges mini Stückchen mit etwas Schokolade. Dies machen viele andere Schokoladenmuseen besser!
- Preis / Leistung stimmt nicht! Das Museum ist mit 14 Euro Eintritt sehr teuer, und wie bereits erwähnt, bekommt man leider fast keine Schokolade zu schmecken. An dieser Stelle sollte das Museum möglicherweise etwas weniger geizig sein, und den Besuchern für ihr Geld wenigstens etwas mehr Schokolade zu probieren geben.
- Unfreundliches Personal: Die Frau an der Kasse war recht unfreundlich. Ebenfalls das Personal des Restaurant im Museum war eher unfreundlich und wenig zuvorkommend. Insgesamt von den wenigen Mitarbeitern, welchen wir begegnet sind, waren zu viele unfreundlich.

Fazit: Informatives Museum mit viel Geschichte und Informationen über die Schokolade, jedoch zu teuer (für das was angeboten wird) und überwiegend unfreundliches Personal.

Vielen Dank für deinen Besuch und die Rückmeldung. Wir freuen uns, dass dir die Ausstellung gefallen hat. Unsere Museumsgäste erhalten am Ein- und Ausgang kostenlos Schokolade, der Schokoladenbrunnen und der Roboter in der gläsernen Schokoladenfabrik können gerne mehrfach besucht werden. In unserer Verkostung "Schoko-Schule kompakt" kann man sich durch alle Stationen der Schokoladenherstellung, von der Kakaobohne bis zur fertigen Tafel probieren und verkostet ausgewählte Schokoladen. Das Schokoladenmuseum ist in Privatbesitz der Gründerfamilie Imhoff, also ein selbständiges und und komplett privatfinanziertes Museum. Dahinter steht ein großer Personal- und Materialaufwand und auch der Erhalt des historischen Gebäudes ist sehr aufwendig. Dass das Personal unfreundlich wirkte sollte natürlich nicht vorkommen. Das Schokoladenmuseum ist sehr informativ und für klein und groß auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.
Man wird über alle Schritte der Schokoladen Entwicklung ausführlich informiert und bekommt auch einen Einblick in die Geschichte dazu.

Lousy slow service

We decided to have a snack and a coffee. We arrived and seated at 4.40pm. Service was slow although the number of staff is numerous. Waiter came to start seeing to orders at 5.10pm. Knowing that the menu stated that kitchen is only open until 5pm (?????), the waiter said that I could order food. He came back 5 minutes later saying that the kitchen was closed. If the service were on top of their game, I would have been served and they would have made a sale.

Underwhelming at best. Unless you have an obsession with chocolate and the process to make it. This is not worth it. The lines were crazy long, not many free samples, hard to navigate, overall a skip in my book . Might be worth 5 USD entry fee at best.

Too bad that your impression of the chocolate museum was not more positive. The past and present global story of cocoa and chocolate is portrayed in detail over more than 4,000 m² of floorspace. The diversity of 5,000-years of cocoa's cultural history is shown as well as modern chocolate production from the cocoa bean through to praline chocolate confectionery. We are always open for suggestions and and positive impressions around the topic of chocolate are very important to us. Many greetings from the Chocolate Museum

Definitely worth a viisit

This is a very good museum and the staff make you feel relaxed as you traverse the museum
There is a lot to see and do here and the entrance price is good value
I would not recommend you buy any chocolate from the shop as it is very expensive a lot of it can be purchased from a local supermarket. It is definitely recommended though to finish off with a chocolate drink in the restaurant at the end
