Sono stato a vedere questa fontana con la mia ragazza in occasione di una vacanza a Colonia. La scultura si trova di fronte all'entrata principale del Duomo della città tedesca. L'opera rappresenta una specie di piatto a spirale che scende dai lati verso il centro. Purtroppo, durante la stagione invernale non è presente l'acqua che scorre. Sicuramente l'effetto è molto bello.

Taubenbrunnen located in the shadow of the magnificent Dom is an unusual little fountain that for some reason seems to attract a lot of attention, it's a swirly little fountain that seems to be a major hangout location for the hordes of pigeons that hover around the Dom and seems to be a bit of a photo opportunity.
Easy to locate on Unter Fettenhennen ,its by the wonderful Dom.
Well worth checking out if your planning a trip to the Dom.

This is a bit of a blink and you'll miss it feature but it is certainly unusual.
Near the Dom, Roman Gate and Tourist Information Centre is the Taubenbrunnen which has a wonderful relaxing feel to it if you get a chance to stand and look at it.
Definitely one of the more quirky things to hunt down on a visit to Cologne.

This fountain can be found at the western end of the cathedral and can be translated as pigeon fountain. The name allegedly alludes to a pigeon shaped foundation stone, although I reckon it's conveniently placed for our avian friends to use.
The fountain is a roughly circular shape decorated with a repeating geometric mosaic surround a sculpture of an inward spiral swirly thing. The fountain water follows the path of the spiral before disappearing down the outlet at the centre of the sculpture.
Strangely mesmerising.

Не понимаю почему называют фонтаном, возможно из-за наличия небольших краников, некоторые даже пьют там, но ничего выдающегося в воронке нет, имитирует водоворот в ванне
