La Turm Jerusalem, oggi adibita ad uffici dopo un restauro, è quel che rimane di una casa torre dell’undicesimo secolo in parte costruita con ri-uso di materiali romani e copiandone la struttura come si vede dalle file di mattoni. Molto alterata nei secoli ribassandola e con aggiunta di finestre è comunque interessante.

Turm aus dem 11.Jhdt!!! Er war Bestandteil der Kurie Jerusalem woher sich auch der heutige Name zurückführen lässt. Er ist einer der Wohntürme in Trier wie z.B. Dreikönigenhaus oder Fankenturm. Leider ist das Gebäude doch sehr unscheinbar.

トリーアでも意外と知られていないのが、ウァルダードルフ･パレスとその周辺でしょう。大聖堂広場に向かい合った場所にあって、現在は役所の一部として使われていたり、レストランがあったりします。その中庭にひっそりと佇んでいるのが、このエルサレムタワーと名付けられた建物です。レンガ造りの建物には、歴史を感じざるを得ません。

The Jerusalem Tower is the oldest structure in “Walderdorff Palace”complex. It is among the most famous buildings of medieval Trier. Its name could be linked with the arrival of St. Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine the Great, to Trier from Jerusalem. As you know, she brought some sacred relics, and even founded several christian churches. If not one "but". The tower was built in the 11th century in the composition of the structures related to complex of the Cathedral and Archbishopric. In Trier there were at least nine such towers, but probably more. During construction were used materials from the buildings from Roman times (as in Rome, by the way) and some of the ancient construction techniques – for example, decorative masonry from so-called "Roman" bricks. Rather, they were conceived as integral elements of the fortified estates of Trier civil and religious nobility. They did warehouses, wine cellar and other utility rooms of economic appointment. Although initially the tower had four or five floors plus a basement level.
Aesthetically it's not valuable structure and serves mainly as a testimony to the economic-material culture of its time. Well, now it's the place of location of local Department of pensions.

Heiratspaare erkundigen sich in Trier am besten vorher nach dem Weg zum Standesamt. Dieses liegt nämlich versteckt in einem eigenen Gebäude im Innenhof des Waldorff Palais.

Constructed 11th century. The red flooring still preserved today and a storage shaft in the floor date from this period. When, during the restoration, the external and internal plaster was removed, medieval niches and window arches, monolithic slit and round window openings and remains of vaulting were discovered. The former entrance in the first upper storey could no longer be found; it was walled up during the many alterations. In the first upper storey, in the area of the new staircase, remains of cross rib vault built in later were found, perhaps an indication of a remodelling as a chapel. Serves today as the Registry Office and the Office for Senior Citizens.
