The Nasrid Palaces were highlight of our visit to Alhambra. You get timed ticket and if late won’t be admitted, also remember ID which is required.
The Palaces are beautiful with courtyards, numerous water features, especially liked the Courtyard of Lions and intricate carvings, very elegant, don’t forget to look up the ceilings are just as stunning. We went on guided tour which was excellent and our guide made sure we saw everything.
Would recommend visiting, it is truly beautiful.

Imperdible… una vez que estás en granada, la Alhambra es parada obligada, pero no puedes irte sin visitar sus palacios nazaries. Las entradas se agotan fácilmente así que es recomendable comprarlas con antelación.
Tuvimos suerte de encontrar a las 12 de la noche que se cancelan algunos lugares.

Conjunto palacial que fue en su día la residencia de los reyes de Granada. Lo empieza a construir el fundador de la dinastía, Alhamar, en el siglo XIII, aunque las edificaciones que han pervivido hasta nuestros días datan, principalmente, del siglo XIV. Estos palacios encierran entre sus muros el refinamiento y la delicadeza de los últimos gobernadores hispano-árabes de Al Andalus, los Nazaríes.
Tres palacios forman este recinto: El Mexuar, El Palacio de Comares, o de Yusuf I y el Palacio de los Leones, o de Mohammed V.
El concepto intimista del palacio real, cerrado a los ojos del curioso, armoniza la robustez de los paños exteriores con la fragilidad del interior, donde los elementos arquitectónicos se tornan puramente ornamentales. Los materiales pobres con que se decoran los palacios ponen en evidencia la temporalidad de la construcción con respecto al cosmos, prueba de la transitoriedad del hombre.

Los patios, continuas alusiones al jardín, con elementos de inspiración persa y musulmana, son el anticipo del paraíso, oasis del nómada, goce de los sentidos. El agua, elemento que da forma al palacio, aunando el jardín con la arquitectura, representa la pureza; agua cristalina que corre entre los mármoles de las fuentes; agua de vida que da riqueza y frescor al jardín, belleza estética, generosidad del sultán... todo un mundo de símbolos y estímulos.

The highlight of Andalusia.

We bought a combined ticket online 2 days earlier, so it was easy to go into. It’s important to arrive at Nasrid Palace in exact time, but we had to wait for about 20 minutes in a long queue. It was bad organisation. But we forgot it when we saw the most beautiful palace we have ever seen! It really is a miracle: stone-laced arcades, carved wooden ceiling, beautiful tiled walls and floors, mosaics, Courtyard of lions with the famous fountain! It’s a must-see attraction in Andalusia!

Visiting Nasrid Palaces was the highlight of our trip to Granada. We were in awe looking up the ceiling, staring at the grandeur of the design and the water features. Could easily spend a whole day there

Buy timed tickets, line up early, bring ID – if you’re late its a no-go. This is the highlight of Alhambra. Throughout, there’s intricacy, elegance and extravagance in the marblework, mosaics, wooden arches and stonework. There are many special rooms - Mexuar, Oratory and Gilded and many halls like the Ambassador, Boat and Macarebes. There are courtyards and palaces within palaces and water everywhere. My favourite place was the Courtyard of Lions, a peaceful elegant and distinguished example of the Moorish sense of purpose. .

Sin duda alguna, lo más bonito que ví en la Alhambra. Me pasaría horas y horas mirando cada esquina y cada uno de sus arcos, porque es impresionante cómo lo construyeron. Para conocerlo en el mismo museo que hay en la Alhambra, justo al lado de la Puerta del Vino y que es gratuito, hay unas muestras de las piezas que usaron para formar cada arco...

Pero no está claro a la hora de coger las entradas que para visitarlos hay que coger cita porque está más limitado el aforo y a mucha gente le ha pasado que no han podido entrar.

This is the stunning bit of the Alhambra. Stunning architecture, stunning design and stunning art with all the gorgeous Moorish motifs and water features. My favourite was the court of the lions, but the court of the myrtle and the comares palace run close seconds.
