… and 3 km back again.
You’ll end up in beautiful surroundings with great views over Oviedo city. 100 metres away is another historical site, Iglesia de Santa María del Naranco. Both buildings are pretty seen from the outside, but the top attraction is the walk up here and the views.

“San Miguel de Lillo is a Roman Catholic church built on the Naranco mount, near the Church of Santa María del Naranco in Asturias. It was completed in 842 and it was consecrated by Ramiro I of Asturias and his wife Paterna in the year 848. It was originally dedicated to St. Mary until this worship passed to the nearby palace in the 12th century, leaving this church dedicated to Saint Michael.”

While visiting the near by Santa Maria, take a look a this, very nice. Sadly, much has fallen down over the years and a bit is left standing but still worth it.

A poco más de cien metros de distancia de Santa María de Naranco, se encuentra la Iglesia prerrománica de San Miguel de Lillo, dedicada a San Miguel Arcángel. Originalmente tuvo una planta basilical de tres naves que se derrumbó a causa de las malas condiciones del suelo. Se puede realizar una visitada guiada. Consultar la web oficial.

Se hace una visita guiada conjunta con Santa María del Naranco. Me encantaron las 2.
Lo único malo es que no sabes si al llegar allí lo podrás ver porque no se pueden comprar las entradas on line y son 2 ermitas pequeñas con poca capacidad.

Iglesia prerromanica construida por Ramiro I dedicada al San miguel arcangel se visita con guia y entrada unica de 4 euros con Santa maria naranco primero esta y luego recorriendo la, carretera andando 200 metros se visita lillo. No se pueden realizar fotos en su interior casi se derrumba en el año 2009 dado su mal estado de humedad y fue declarada patrimonio humanidad año 1985.

Extraordinario recuerdo de los estudios de Arte prerrománico Asturiano. Es lo que queda de lo que era la iglesia original del siglo IX. Se visita con entrada previa, pero es una pena que las famosas "Jambas de Lillo" estén tapadas por una puerta de madera que los guías se preocupan celosamente de que la gente que está fuera esperando no pueda ni siquiera verlas un momento cuando abren para los grupos. Es una pena ese detalle tan feo.

Esta igreja com muita história, séc. IX e declarada património da humanidade pela UNESCO, fica a poucos metros de Santa Maria del Naranco, fazendo parte do mesmo complexo.
Quando se adquire o bilhete é para visitar os dois monumentos, pois só com guia, se pode visitar o interior.
Vale mesmo a pena, principalmente pela sua carga histórica.

Beautiful church on Mount Naranco near the Church of Santa Maria del Naranco. Highly recommend if in Oviedo! If you sign up for the tour of the Church of Santa Maria, it includes a tour of San Miguel de Lillo. Small chapel inside, but historic.
