This is a fantastic food market. It’s full of top quality, fresh food, the tomatoes were amazing, from dark nearly black ones to bright yellow huge ones. The fresh fish is again, interesting to say the least and the meat market has iberico ham that melts in your mouth. All along the way there are tasters, so you can’t go unless you are peckish or you will miss out considerably. I took home some incredibly fresh herbs and spices. Exciting, do not miss.

Typowe miejsce gdzie można dostać Świeże jedzenie, taki targ gdzie tutejsi mieszkańcy odwiedzają codziennie. No i znajdzie się również kilka tapasbar co gorąco polecam. Można spróbować owoców morza w świetnej cenie. Szybko smacznie i nie drogo.

Visite de ce marché typique espagnol comme on en trouve partout en Espagne ! Les étals sont beaux et colorés, donnent envie et sont organisés par thématique .

Der Merat de l'Olivar gehört einfach zur Stadt Palma de Mallorca. Er ist relativ zentral gelegen und man sollte sich einfach ins Gewusel stürzen. Man kann an den Marktständen jegliche Art von Speisen, sie es Gemüse, Salate, Fleisch, Fisch und sonstiges geniessen und kaufen.
Verglichen zu anderen solcher Marktplätzen in anderen Städten im Mittelmeer wirkt dieser hier sehr sauber.

Ein Besuch gehört einfach zu wenn man in Palma ist. Eine überbordende Fülle an Waren, vieles kommt von den Inseln.
Man bekommt Lust selber zu kochen und bedauert im Hotel zu wohnen. Allein die Auswahl an Fisch und Meeresfrüchten, davon kann ein Binnenländer nur träumen. Ein Muß jedes Mal ist der Gewürzstand eines Argentinieres, in der Nähe der Fischhalle, eine unendliche Auswahl an Gewürzen aus aller Welt.
Gute Essstände, an denen man auch nur schwer vorbeigehen kann.

Toller Markt mit vielen Ständen. Definitiv einen Besuch wert, vor allem wenn man in seiner Unterkunft in Palma frisch kochen kann. Es gibt auch einen Mercadona im 1. OG und dadurch bekommt man einfach alles an einem Ort. Besonders der Stand mit den Gewürzen ist ein Muss.

Hi Georgia,
There are cakes, pastry and sweet in the main food market not clothes. There are a couple of shops in downtown selling gifts in good price too. Clothes shops are more or less the same brand as in the UK, some cheaper Chinese shops in town may have some cheaper beach wearers. Have a great time in Palma. 😊 Maggie

Hi Georgia, the market has everything. Fish, meat, vegetables, fruit, sweets, confectionery, pastries (try the Ensaimada!) and several Tapas bars. I don't remember any shops selling clothing, though. You could buy presents in some of the deli type shops.

It’s open from Monday to Friday from 7am to 2.30pm and partially open on Friday from 2.30pm to 8pm. Saturdays from 7am until 3pm. Usually closed on Sundays.
