Markets don't get better than this!
Amazing displays of fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, nuts etc.
We had a couple of cups of coffee at a lovely little stall, Cafe Ortega, accompanied by some heavenly salted almonds (coffee 1.20 euros each).
As it was our last day we decided to buy food to eat on the aeroplane at one of the market stalls. A delightful young girl served us 200g of jamon serrano, 200g of a lovely Spanish cheese, all beautifully sliced, boxed and cling-filmed - 7.50 euros.
This is a must visit!

What a brilliant find, fresh produce with lots of little eateries working as a cooperative, great drinks too. We went most lunchtimes for pinchos & cava & attended a music evening with a DJ which was excellent

Very popular from 3pm onwards. For good reason: it has scrumptious cold tapas - on display, so you know what you're choosing. The same 3 bars do breakfast too, plus 2 greengrocers. A lot of stalls are not open, but that leaves more space for customers from the open ones to spread out. V. noisy.

Además de mercado , tiene varios bares y restaurantes que lo hacen un sitio muy recomendable para visitar. Agradable trato en general. Tanto sea de mediodía o de noche no hay que perdérselo.

This market is actually a Port market and food market. Here you can find local products. We went there as a group for lunch. It is the perfect place to try local dishes. It is not too touristy and mainly locals come here, That is why I love it more. As a group, we choose different dishes and shared them. This is the best way to try as many dishes as you can

Es un mercado de restauración ideado para atraer al turista bajo la marca "mercado". En realidad nada queda de esos orígenes de antiguo mercado marinero de pescado. Por otra parte, tampoco hay una oferta gastronómica interesante en el que la estrella sea el mar y la cocina tradicional isleña.

Hier gibt es sie, die vielfältigen Tapas - und dies auch noch am späteren Abend!
Aufgrund vielfacher Empfehlungen hatten wir genau dies vergeblich in der Vegueta gesucht, aber dort gibt es inzwischen nur noch 'richtige' Speiselokale. Das mit der Tapas-Night am Donnerstag scheint leider Geschichte zu sein.
