Nous cherchions un bar à mojitos pas trop cher... car beaucoup de bars abusent un peu au niveau des tarifs et le goût n’y est pas toujours... Ici nous n’avons pas été déçus. Dommage que tous les fruits n’étaient pas dispos, mais le mojito à l’ananas était très bon.

Regretfully I don’t remember the managers name, but she’s from Venezuela. In fact it is a Venezuelan bar. We were in search of some AUTHENTIC sangria, which has become harder to come by in Barcelona since the City has become so popular. More and more bars are using just wine and a few pieces of fruit. Such an American way to water down and make more profitable. Being from Chicago and now living in the LA area I am very familiar with watered down drinks. Real sangria is far more than that. We caught this place on Trip Advisor, took one look at the drinks, we happen to LOVE Mojitos, and gave it shot. First, it’s small but has a great neighborhood pub vibe. The manager immediately greeted us and asked if she could help us with something. She then saw to it that we had a spot to sit at the bar. Great, honest and authentic feeling that she wanted us there. She began our drink orders by saying, “We make everything here with love”. I ordered the Banana Mojito and my lady had the strawberry. Words don’t do them justice but we both agreed the banana was better (to us) than the strawberry. Plenty of muddled banana with a good portion of rum and properly rolled and smacked mint (to open the flavor and aroma). We had (I think) 3 each. Each one tasted as good or better than the last. We also had some sort of shot that was set a flame. Everything was delicious. Prices are not bad at all as again this is a locals kind of bar with not much of a tourist feel (which we love and seek). Solid all around experience! We will be back and recommend to friends and family!

On a really hot Monday night my twin brother Stephen and I found this bar as we were wandering around the wonderful old streets of the Gothic Quarter and what a great find.
The bar looks superb,a great serving bar,cool decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, it's a fantastic bar and when we visited was absolutely packed with a great atmosphere.
We were greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a beer each, we opted to have that most Barcelonian of beers namely Moritz beer, these were served in tip top condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just chilled out and took in the great bar we were in.
I really enjoy Moritz beer, it's such a light,hoppy, well balanced beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink and a beer style I really enjoy.
These are my type of bars ,busy ,great beers and in a fantastic location, what more could you want.
We really enjoyed our beers in here and although we only stayed for the one beer before we moved on for a first time visit we were very impressed with this bar.
El Rabipelao is really easy to locate on Carrer De La Merce in the eclectic and vibrant Gothic Quarter which is in an area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination.
A great bar,well worth checking out if your in the area.

Stopped here with my Venezuelan husband and 6 friends for dinner. WE LOVED IT!! beautiful staff, fantastic arepa, great choices of flavours and cocktails, felt like we were back in Venezuela. Gracias Chamos xx

He ido a otros locales venezolanos en Barcelona y debo decir que en atencion este dejo mucho que desear. Como comentario puedo decir que llegamos a las 11 de la noche, durante la fiesta mayor de Gracia. Al llegar pedimos Mojitos y cervezas, y preguntamos si habia "cualquier cosa de comer" a lo que nos dijeron "No, hemos cerrado la cocina hace media hora". Ok, no pasaba nada.
Transcurrido 1 hora, vemos que sirven comida en 2 mesas cercanas, y reclamo el hecho que nos hayan dicho esto. Ni se disculparon, ni ofrecieron tomarnos el pedido de lo que queríamos, nada. Básicamente nos dieron a entender que no les daba la gana de servirnos comida a nosotros, porque simplemente no les dio la gana.
Triste que uno vaya a estos locales para "apoyar a los emprendedores venezolanos", y resulta que te traten así.
Un local que no repetire ni recomiendo, eso si, los mojitos si que estaban buenos...pero también son buenos en muchos otros sitios en Barcelona y con mucha mejor atencion.

We tried to book a table for a birthday and it was not possible because our group was big. They asked us to come at 7 to guarantee seats. We came and found the table. This one waitress tried her best to ruin our evening from the very first moment, not allowing us to seat together and simply being rude. At one point, some of our friends went outside for a smoke and she immediately took their table and sat a couple in it, splitting our group in 2. Very unpleasant and unnecessary. If I had a restaurant and someone so immature and with total lack of professionalism did this to my customers, she would be dismissed immediately. I have been a waitress in busier places, I managed restaurants both simple and top notch and although the food was amazing and the rest of the staff adorable, to ruin someone’s evening just because you don’t like to serve big tables is irresponsible and plain bad. We were not bad customers. We all spent a considerable amount of money in food and drinks. I know Barcelona customer service is not exactly amazing, but bad manners is simply ugly to see. I would go back for the food and I would give a better rating if it wasn’t for this lady.
