It’s a fabulous inheritance, from first reference to it almost a millennium ago. Grandly restored and preserved it gives a powerful picture of the lives of the rulers during those years.
It has had a fascinating back-story, not only being Muslim owned, but also utilised for a time by the Jewish community and a group of Capuchin nuns.
In the ambient sunshine there was a grand interplay of lightness and shadow, emphasizing interplaying on the marvellous stone craft.
Ascending to the roof we had gorgeous vistas of the surrounding cityscape, including steeples of holy places.
Want to particularly mention the chap in charge. He was most generous with his time and advised in a very friendly pleasant manner on some queries we had about further attractions.

Nos ha encantado lo conservado que está,es un recorrido cortito pero admirable, son baños del siglo XII de calefacción por brasas, inspirado en las termas romanas y baños públicos, en sí no tienen origen musulmán, baños románicos imitando la estructura de los baños musulmanes, si no creo mal,fue Alfonso I el casto,quien los mandó construir y nos ha llamado la atención que formó parte del convento canónigo de monjas para lavar la ropa.
El precio de la entrada es asequible,3 euros por persona aunque también tienes reducciones según tu condición,

Although Banys Àrabs were modeled after earlier Islamic baths and Roman baths, they look like perfectly preserved Romanesque Christian structures. The Arab baths were built in the 12th century and then rebuilt in the 13th century after being destroyed.

This is a small attraction but interesting to see. It takes about 10 min to walk through. There are some signs explaining the baths operation. Price is 3e , and credit card only.

This is unique and worth a visit if you have never been to an Arab country. There is nothing like it in Europe to my knowledge.

Visita recomendada. Se ve en media hora pero sorprende por lo curioso y bien conservado que está. Además, si eres fan de Juego de Tronos, es como estar dentro la serie.

Una visita a Girona non può non includere i famosissimi Bagni arabi. Leggendo Wikipedia, ho scoperto con mia grossa sorpresa che questi bagni, sono stati costruiti nel 1194 in stile romanico, imitando il gusto orientale. La struttura è stata adibita a vari utilizzati, addirittura come dispensa da parte dei monaci di un convento. La visita è molto suggestiva, l’illuminazione soffusa ne aumenta molto “l'effetto hammam”. Il vero punto di forza della location, secondo me è una cupola con un lucernario che introduce luce naturale dall'alto, aumentando ancora di più l'effetto orientaleggiante.
L'unico neo di questa visita e che i cartelli esplicativi (a parer mio) sono collocati troppo in basso, oltre ad essere scritti troppo in piccolo. Il giro prosegue anche al piano superiore, da cui si raggiunge l’uscita con una ripida scala a chiocciola. Ragion per cui ho evitato questa parte della visita. il biglietto è molto economico mi sembra che costi solo €3. Consiglio vivamente questa visita!

The Arab baths are probably older than the roman baths around the continent.
An interesting visit, whilst the remains are good, the information displays are not quite up to the standard of say the History of Girona museum

Hello,
The visit can takes you about 10 minutes and there's no guide visits. The entrance cost 2€ and it's a free visit. I recomend you to do another activity after or before that like visit the City Walls for example.

You cannot swim at these baths. This is an archaeological monument and it's only for visiting and get information about it use in the past ages. I hope it will be useful for you to know!
