The Old Town of Tarragona is located in the upper part of the city. It is a labyrinth of narrow streets lined by old buildings. The terraces of charming squares offer resting places during sightseeing.
Tarraco was founded in 218 BC by the Romans. For several centuries it boasted of being the largest province capital of the empire. Later, with the fall of the Roman Empire, it was devastated by the Visigoths, conquered by the Muslims, and re-conquered a few centuries later by the Christians.
So there are many historical periods that have left their footprints here.

From the terrific Roman Amphitheatre and Circus to the Cathedral area and beyond, it’s a fabulous area to amble about and enjoy.
In glorious blue-sky sunshine it was lovely visiting all the superb attractions and relaxing at a Café for a pick me up beverage.

Tarragone est moins bondée que Barcelone et présente un interêt historique certain. Il est plaisant de se promener dans le vieille ville en allant de vestige en vestige. Certains batiments manquent d'entretien hélas comme partout.
Attention quand même, il y aussi des pickpockets (vu à l'oeuvre de loin).
Côté parking, avenue de catalogne , il a un parking sous terrain, propre et pas cher (4,95 euros la journée). Il donne directement sur la vieille ville (à côté du Passeig Arqueològic)

Cette place et toute la partie piétonne est vraiment très agréable, en particulier le soir avec plein de restaurants... Bonne ambiance, de belles photos à faire...

Entra nella storia con i Romani nel 218 a.C. e sorge, dall'epoca in cui la Catalogna meridionale si chiamava Hispania Tarraconensis, su una collina rocciosa sopra il Mediterraneo.
Nella Part Alta le vestigia della civiltà romana si integrano ai vicoli e ai monumenti storici della città medievale.

Tarragona has huge problem with graffiti, everywhere you look around every corner you walk. We even witnessed graffiti saying "Tourist Go Home" I'm not sure what is wrong with the young generation here but some context on the money tourism brings would be good. While we were eating at a restaurant we were heckled by some kids in a passing car, i must say it made me feel very uneasy and i will never come back. No police anywhere!!!

Buenas tardes...yo he visitado tres Restaurantes en Tarragona y espero que te gusten.... si miras mi perfil mis opiniones podrás ver mis opiniones..y podrás decidir...
La Caleta ..telf.977234040...( no está en el casco antiguo )pero es bueno y bien de precio ...///Restaurante Racó de L'abat en C/de L'abat 2 telef.625715901...muy recomendable..en el caso antiguo-////Rest.El Terrat ..C/ Pons d'icart 19 .telf 977248485...muy cerca de la muralla de Tarragona......también nos gustó mucho.....//// espero te haya sido útil....
