Beautifully preserved large theater in Pompeii. It is open to explore to see the seating and backstage areas. We were able to sit in the seats and try to imagine what it may have been like when it was in use before the eruption. Stage was neat to walk across and to be able to look and see where the actors waited for their moment to perform was very interesting.

Het grote theater, was het eerste grote openbaar gebouw dat volledig vrij werd gemaakt van de as en lapilli.
Het werd gebouwd op de natuurlijke helling van de heuvel. Nog steeds een prachtig theater om te bezoeken.

Bel ensemble, nous avons eu la chance qu'une (excellente) cantatrice amateure nous fasse une démonstration de l'acoustique de cet amphithéâtre. Emouvant.

Realizzato seguendo la naturale inclinazione della collina per la costruzione della gradinata, era dedicato a varie rappresentazioni a cui potevano assistere circa cinquemila spettatori. Affascinante ancora oggi per meglio comprendere la vita dei pompeiani.

Pian piano i visitatori stanno avendo la possibilità di visitare nuovamente gli scavi .
E di certo il Teatro Grande è una delle attrazioni migliori.
Qui si respira un'aria millenaria e la mente prova ad immaginare la folla che più di duemila anni fa assisteva a spettacoli traveste.
