This is my second time touring in Rome with Gabriele and he sets the bar high. No one comes close and I wouldn’t think of touring with any other. He answered my many emails promptly and gave me great advice with scheduling. He has a charming personality and is a walking history book, and makes the tour so fun. We laughed a lot and learned a lot of history and some Italian. I love his periodic quizzes of what you’ve discovered during the day. He listens to what you want and makes it happen. His driving is safe and he’s able to park in no time and gets you from here to there with ease. When you’re hungry, he will take you to the best places and you’ll have food like no other! I didn’t know he does tours other than Rome, so I hope to someday be back and tour other beautiful places with Gabriele. Book his tour—you won’t regret it!

Con Gabriel visitamos Roma y Florencia en un Tour de 1 semana y su capacidad de explicarnos los monumentos y la historia de estas ciudades es simplemente fenomenal nos hizo sentir como amigos y no como clientes, aconsejo a quien viene en Italia de utilizar sus servicios.

This is the private tour company for you! Perfect from beginning to end. We spent 3days with Gabriele and each day only got better. Gabriele is responsive to email, easy to plan with. As we had been to Rome previously, he made some other suggestions for things to round out our Italian experience. Gabriele knowledge is thorough with some very fun facts and stories thrown in to keep it fun. We enjoyed the daily trivia and how he was able to tie it all together for the history “challenged” like me. The vehicles are clean, ac, and I felt incredibly safe amidst the wild drivers.
We can’t wait till plan our next adventure with him!
Ps..ask him to take you to the secret coffee place with the filled doughnut. Best cappuccino and espresso ever.

Rome is a bit overrun by tourists, but Roberto took my wife and I around this beautiful city for 7 hours and showed us all it had to offer. He listened to our interests and customized our tour based on our feedback. He is a very pleasant man full of stories and invaluable information, and I was shocked how quickly our day was over! Roberto knows all of the back roads, the secret entrances, and most importantly, he knows where to park so that you can get to the sights most efficiently. I highly recommend Roberto and ThisisItaly if you are visiting Rome!

This is Italy Tours helps you get the most pleasure out of precious vacation time. My sister travels extensively and highly recommended Gabriele to best experience Italy. My family, including two teens, enjoyed three days with Gabriiele in Rome, starting with a friendly airport transfer; a full day at the Vatican with an expert guide and special tour accommodations avoiding hours long lines and massive crowds, truly a private tour focusing on our interests, made the best use of time since there is so much to see and experience. Another day we toured the Collsseum and sites around Rome with Gabriele learning and enjoying the culture, and fabulous food throughout. At every stop, we were able to drive right up, park quickly and enter right away to tour at our leisure. Our third day with Gabrielle was an excursion from Rome to Pompeii, we were escorted on a private tour learning about life in Pompeii and witnessing archaeologists at work. From Pompeii we drove with Gabriele along the glorious Amalfi Coast. Every turn was a beautiful vista and called for us to return for a longer visit. We stopped in Positano and enjoyed a beachfront lunch steps from the deep blue Mediterranean, shopped and enjoyed the local limoncello. We most appreciated Gabrielle when we left Rome and found ourselves unable to purchase museum tickets in Florence, which left us scrambling to make new plans or stand in hours long lines in the heat, wishing we had made further accomodations with This is Italy. Our experience with This is Italy and Gabriele's wonderful companionship is truly the best way to esperience Italy and we look forward to returning and joining him again soon, as most of his clients do.

Gabriele made our trip to Rome so special. My friend spoke so highly of her two tours with him, he was great! He took us to see all the known places to see, along with some really special local places for the best gelato, coffee and pasta! We went to tivoli to get lunch at a really special restaurant..the food was amazing. We sat under the wisteria and enjoyed a beautiful view. He is so knowledgeable, full of history and many fun random facts that we loved hearing. I will visit Rome again and see gabriele. Don't thing twice, just see what "this is Italy" is all about. Huge thanks to Gabriele!!!

Gabrielle Borelo was referred to us by a friend in Atlanta. We contacted This Is Italy and Gabriele responded right away. His communication before the agreement, before the trip, and follow up was superb. He dropped tickets off at the hotel prior to us arriving, and the day of the tour, he was right on time. So far, a very professional interaction. He answered ALL questions too.
The tour was supposed to be a 7 hour tour of the most famous and popular Roman sights. He did a fabulous job. We not only saw everything on our list, we got to see different areas that we would not have visited if we were not with him. His historical knowledge, pleasant demeanor, and professionalism were all excellent. We had a great day. Well worth the price.

Gabriele is the best tour guide. Friendly, knowledgeable, great sense of humor. Lot of fun to take a tour with Gabriele. He will make it happen for you just the way you want to see Roma. He will go out of his way to make your trip perfect and personal for you. We look forward to spending time with him again.

My wife and I had the idea to fly our parents into Rome from Brazil, while we came with our 2 children, so 7 in total. We knew we needed a tour guide to get thru 3 days in Rome. A friend of a friend all the way in Macau got me in touch with Gabriele from Thisisitaly. I gave him the freedom to put 2 and a half days of tours together for 7 of us, and WOW, what a way to experience Rome. He had all of the main attractions in the itinerary, but beyond that, his knowledge of all the little details and history, makes all the difference to understand what Rome is about. Having children and elders, we were concerned with the walking, but he knows how to get you close to all the attractions. We were fortunate enough to see the Pope speak in Vatican City, and as you can imagine the crowds were huge..Gabriele went down a few side streets, and there we were, standing under the Pope, an amazing experience. This part of the tour was not even in the itenerary, but my wife really wanted to see the Pope speak and Gabriele was able to adjust the itinerary at the last minute and accommodate. For our 2 boys, Gabriele is extremely friendly and he knows how to get the kids involved, asking questions, quizzes, and so friendly to make it all fun...We have an 11 year old and 5 year old boy, and again, concerns of long days sightseeing were put at ease..Gabriele knew when it was time for a Gelato stop!!! For these private tours, tickets, the transportation to and from the hotel, as well, they also do airport pick ups, without a doubt the prices are reasonable and we could not have done this without him!! We now have a friend in Rome, and will recommend him to all that travel to Rome..

Our group planned to go see the catacombs, aqueducts, and ancient Appian Way, but we weren't so sure how to get all of that done without a car, as they are spread out from each other and outside of central Rome. A friend of mine has raved for years about how excellent This Is Italy is, so I knew they must be the best choice for us. We were not disappointed! Roberto got us quickly to all the places we wanted to see and even to a few that we didn't have on our list but loved to get the chance to visit. Roberto was funny and easy going and happy to share his love of Italy with us. He took us to a fantastic restaurant with gorgeous views, where we even had a tour of the wine cellar and a tasting of homemade liquor with the owner. Our day could not have been any nicer, and we enthusiastically recommend Roberto and Gabriele (who quickly and happily responds to all emails with questions you might have) for any touring you plan to do in Rome!
