It is a small church on the Esqilino Hill, not far from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, where is a stop of the Metro.
The locals nicknamed it Immacolatella, to distinguish it from the larger one in San Lorenzo. It is a late example of Neo-Gothic in Rome, being built between 1896 and 1914.
We bumped into this little church one late evening, while we were going home after dinner in a nearby restaurant: the big door was open and we heard some lovely and almost divine music coming out.
Later we came to know that in this church some nice classical music concerts take place.
Very unassuming from the outside. The interior is however quite awe-inspiring with wonderful paintings against the walls and the ceiling.
It gives its visitors a great deal of mysticism and inspiration, once they just cross the wooden door.
A place of peace and meditation before going back to the reality of the road and of the little degraded neighbourhood.

十字型の３廊式教会で会堂を支えている石柱が印象的。また壁面上部はフレスコ画で覆われそれらは上質なものが多かった。また天井には絵は無く全面青色で統一されていた。主祭壇にはパイプオルガンが据えられその上部にマリアのフレスコ画。入り口上部のマリアのモザイクもなかなか良いものだった。

pass by and you would miss it, but go inside and it is quaint and quiet. some beautiful frescoes on the groin-vaulted apse ceiling. the altarpiece itself is quite impressive.

Esta Iglesia tiene construcción post moderna, posee un estilo neogótico. Para llegar a ella se puede llegar a pie desde el centro histórico hacia el Roma Termini; en la ruta también encontrarás otras iglesia modernas y algunos recintos de interés.
