Fresh is the word that comes to mind. If you are in Modena do t miss it. You could actually eat in this place. Unfortunately we were passing through and did not have time. But all the meat, the cold cuts, the vegetables were looking at their peak.

Lovely mix of fresh foods stands

A lovely little covered market full of different food stands and sellers. There are many options selling fresh pasta, bread, pastries, vegetables, dairy and butchers. There are also some restaurants if you want to eat there.

Prices are no higher than elsewhere in the city and the choice is very good. We found all the ingredients we needed for an excellent lunch and dinner at home. We especially appreciated Marisa's fresh pasta stand.

The market operates in the morning and until the early afternoon and was not too busy when we visited around midday on a rainy day.

Storico mercato coperto con al centro bancarelle che offrono prodotti tipici: dai formaggi, ai salumi, all'aceto, ai dolci, frutta e verdura, carne e pesce. Molte attività offrono pietanze pronte sia da asporto che da gustare nei tavolini sparsi all'interno o all'esterno. Molto caratteristico.

Mercato storico al centro di Modena dove è possibile trovare un po' di tutto. In quasi in ogni città in cui, la tappa al mercato è obbligatoria. Abbiamo scelto di pranzare qui alla ricerca di tipico cibo emiliano-romagnolo - crescentine e salumi - ma non siamo stati totalmente soddisfatti. Peccato.

Idea di storicità nel cuore della città. Dicono che, per conoscere le caratteristiche di un luogo bisogna conoscere le sue particolarità eno-gastronomiche. Dicono...Appena entri al Mercato Storico Albinelli ricevi un grande abbraccio emiliano dalla sua gioia di condivisione del buon mangiare. Dagli storici banchi in marmo degli ex-pescivendoli, a tutte le Enoteche ai suoi perimetri, alle vendite di ogni particolarità Modenese e delle sue montagne. Una vera soddisfazioni per occhi e palato. Questo è la vera idea del cuore di una città emiliana.

Amazing indoor food market not to miss!

Wonderful food hall / market with super friendly vendors. Excellent quality produce, cheeses, breads, pastries and more. We bought lovely items to take home, and also sampled local specialties at two of the little wine bar / restaurant-type areas inside. Fantastic option if you don’t want a full meal / traditional restaurant environment or prefer to taste lots of things rather than commit to one dish.

Siamo stati con parenti e amici a mangiare le tigelle al cibo sl mercato … quattro piatti, quelli quadrati di carta, di affettati mortadella pancetta crudo e metà piatto salame e salame di ciccioli 7 calici e tre bottigliette di acqua naturale da mezzo litro, con tigelle scongelate al momento, e pezzi di focaccia ben 180 euro … messa la croce e sconsigliatissimo perché nulla di buono dal prosecco alle tigelle
