I was in Bergamo 2019,09,12. Terible is that you wount get pica till lunch time. if yopu want to get capucino or cofie, you should order some food -this is disaster. they have they own rules, and those rules are silly

It has 2 venicular railways to take you into the fortified town , them to the castle. Enchanting and it should be more well known and popular.

Unexpected nice surprise

I travelled to Bergamo because I found a very cheap flight and accommodation for a long weekend.
The plan was to make day trips to the nearby cities and/or Garda Lake, but after visiting Verona, I came back tired and disappointed so the following day I've decided to give Bergamo a try... I began my tour with Sant'Agostino Gate and Park, then took the funicular to Cità Alta and the second one to San Vigilio. I was so impressed, I've decided to stay in Bergamo for the remaining days and visit everything I could. There are very nice views of the city from the Venetian Walls, from the fortress, San Giacomo Gate and Torre civica. The churches and especially Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore are very beautiful. The weather was nice and warm and so were the people.
And... ladies, be prepared! You will most probably hear many times "signora, lei e bellissima!" from Italian men :) - something which you're most probably not used to if you live in Germany for example :)))...

Una città sempre più bella

Una città ricca di testimonianze storiche ed artistiche che negli anni è diventata sempre più bella grazie a notevoli investimenti. Bella la città bassa ma splendida e suggestiva la città alta alla quale si arriva grazie ad una splendida passeggiata che offre magnifici scorci panoramici dall'alto. Consigliato anche l'uso della funicolare, comoda e pure generosa di scorci panoramici.Bellissima alle luci della sera.

Wollten gestern Sightseeingtour mit Bus machen, diese gibt es schon seit Jahren nicht mehr!
Trotzdem auch zu Fuß schön, mit Bus 1A zu Citti alta fahren.

Beautiful city to see

In winter we have seen less flowers around, but impressive antic buildings everywhere around. The best are in the centre of Citta Alta. I can recommend to visit Castello di San Vigilio above the city. Possible to use public transport or park on the top of the hill.

Fantastic Old city on the hill.

This city must be seen if you enjoy the beauty and history of the old buildings and churches as in Bergamo.
A 30 minute walk from our hotel ( across from the train station ) to the entrance to the Funicular, which will take you up to the old city and all its glory.
The old city is a pure delight to walk its many cobbled streets and laneways and the churches are fantastic, a huge WOW factor for Bergamo.

Travelled with friends from Sheffield England on Boxing day for a 3 night 4 day stay. 30 minutes by public transport to City Alta which,as the name implies, overlooks the main city of Bergamo. Stayed almost opposite the main square which houses the cathedral & serves as a central point by which to explore the old city. Would probably need a whole day to explore the whole city which is packed with places of interest & beauty (listing all the places to visit would take forever). The City offers fantastic views of the surrounding region which is easily accessible by bus, venichular railway or pleasurably by walking. New Bergamo, whilst busy, also offers an abundance of places & sites to explore & easy access to the railway, which in turn allows easy visits to lakes Como & Garda, Milan, Verona & many more places of interest. Almost impossible to list all the places that would be recommended but would most certainly shortlist Bergamo as a place that one should visit in a lifetime.

难忘的贝加莫

一个贝加莫当地的朋友开车带我参观了这里，贝加莫是一座距离米兰不远的古城。这座城市真的很神奇，因为它分为上城区和不断壮大的下城区！当你登上上城区的时候，你会看到广场中央的喷水池、周围保存完好的建筑群以及巴洛克风格的大教堂等等…印象深刻的还有广场旁边有家据朋友介绍是贝加莫最好吃的冰激淋店，抱歉已经忘记店名！下次再去的时候一定给标上

Понравилось больше чем в Милане, очень красивая старая Европа. маленькие уютные улицы, окна со створками, улицы мощеные камнями "елочкой" и конечно вид крепости и из нутри и снаружи просто потрясающий
