La chiesa a mio avviso non vale niente, soprattutto la cripta, che si può vedere solo dall'esterno oltretutto.
Ben diverso il chiostro (a pagamento) che presenta capitelli in stile medievale (quel grottesco romanico che o si ama o si odia). Io sono stato lì a vederli (e fotografarli) tutti.
A mio gusto, potresti andare ad Aosta anche solo per questo.

Church dates back to the 5th century though it was rebuilt in the 11th century in a Romanesque style with three naves, three semicircular apses, a wooden trussed roof and a crypt. The Campanile that stands to a height of 44 metres in the courtyard was built in the 12th century and there are also a number of frescoes that date from this period.
The 15th century again saw substantial rebuilding, additions and renovations. It is during this period that the church gained its unique facade (now painted yellow) and Gothic appearance. The ogival portal is flanked on either side by a terracotta frame which forms a high gable that is topped with a terracotta pinnacle that almost reaches the roof tiles. There are two painted aedicules as well as three rectangular windows. There is a small bell tower on the ridge of the roof and two further small terracotta pinnacles at either end of the roof.
Internally the three naves are separated by pillars decorated with imitation marble and the 15th century also saw the replacement of the wooden ceiling with a vaulted one. A Baroque partition or jube in polychrome marble with three arches separates the central nave from the choir which contains some magnificently carved wooden stalls that date from the late 15th century.
The splendid high altar, constructed of polychrome marble, dates from the 18th century and there are a number of other lovely polychrome marble, gilded and wooden chapels and altars containing some important sculptures and paintings.
The interior of the cupola is richly decorated in 15th century frescoes and there are also some beautiful stained glass windows.
The Romanesque crypt, which is divided into five naves, is the oldest part of the church and is well worth a visit. There were a couple of frescoes showing the death of Saint Sebastian on the wall down to the crypt.
Unfortunately we did not get to see the cloister which was closed when we visited.

Chiesa molto bella con una cripta molto interessante. Spettacolare il chiostro dove ogni colonna è diversa dall'altra .Caratteristici i capitelli che rappresentano momenti della bibbia.

un luogo da visitare se vi trovare ad aosta, ho trovato una guida che me lo consigliava e ne vale la pena, controllate gli orari delle visite!

chiesa davvero di grandi dimensioni, come si addice a una vera cattedrale, per contro, tra i lavori di restauro e le varie transenne che impedivano gli accessi, non ho visto oper d'arte che mi abbiamo particolarmente colpito.

Questo complesso religioso si affaccia sulla piccola piazza di Sant'Orso, dominata dall'imponente companile romanico.
La facciata si presenta in forme tardogotiche con il suo portale ad ogiva mentre l'interno è caratterizzato da tre navate con robusti pilastri.
Un tramezzo barocco con tre archi separa la navata centrale dal coro.
Più in basso rispetto al pavimento, si osserva un bellissimo mosaico a tessere bianche e nere, mentre meritano attenzione gli stalli lignei posti sui due lati del coro. Molto belle le cinque vetrate che si possono ammirare guardando verso le finestre dell'abside.
Al termine delle navate laterali una scala consente di scendere nella cripta.
Ingresso libero alla chiesa mentre è a pagamento l'ingresso al chiostro e la visita agli affreschi.

Durante il nostro soggiorno ad Aosta abbiamo avuto il piacere di effettuare la visita guidata alla collegiata di sant Orso . La visita inizia dalla chiesa e i suoi splendidi affreschi datati anno 1000. Poi si prosegue all interno del palazzo del priore visitando la piccola cappella dei conti di Challant e infine il chiostro .La visita dura quasi un ora e mezza e la nostra guida era molto professionale .Da provare.

très belle petite église rustique comme la vallée d'Aoste, plutôt atypique de l'extérieur elle est très bien décorée, avec de belles colonnes de marbres

Una cosa assolutamente da vedere ad Aosta è sicuramete la Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso. La visita è davvero molto interessante e il prezzo di accesso assolutamente alla portata di tutti (2 euro). Esiste anche la possibilità di accedere a una visita guidata che sicuramente, ci darà maggiori informazioni sul chiostro, la chiesa e gli affreschi. Assolutamente da vedere.

Imperdibile per chi vista la città, il complesso della collegiata di Sant'Orso comprende un magnifico coro ligneo scolpito e un chiostro (visita a pagamento) ricco di capitelli scolpiti di grande interesse.
