Ann’s Birthday Trip to Italy
Our guide, Lorella , met us at our Hotel which was Great . We started our tour at the Roman Amphitheater wher she gave us the beginnings of Verona. She asked us about our physical condition for walking which is very considerate. We then started out towards d the old LaScala Fortress with Lorella talking and explaining the whole time . Her way of explaining what we were looking at is very good as she makes history almost come alive ! Upon reaching the fortress she told us all about the LaScala family. We then crossed the river and walked at a very comfortable pace while Lorella talked and pointed out and explained all the sights . We then made our way to the center of old Verona and saw old Roman ruins and old Roman streets . There Lorella explains the different Architectural designs of some of the old buildings .
Her Knowledge is fascinating. From there we made our way to Juliet’s House where we saw “ The Balcony”

If you are going to Verona , I Highly recommend Verona Tours and Lorella specifically . Her Knowledge of the history and architecture combined with her experience and ability to explain in a very interesting way plus her politeness and consideration
Makes this a Top Notch Expierience !

Wonderful guide and tour

I was fortunate to go on a Valpolicella winery tour with Valeria, who is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. Valeria is exceptionally knowledgeable about the wine regions near Verona and Lake Garda, knows everything about the area generally, and speaks excellent English, which allowed us to discuss all kinds of interesting issues having to do with both wine and many other things. It is a good day touring when you get to drink excellent wine, eat great food, learn about one of the world's great wine regions, and meet a new friend along the way. We will ask Valeria to be our guide again the next time we are in Verona next year.

The Best Tour in Verona

We have traveled extensively and have hired many private tour guides. Nearly all of them have been good. I only missed on one or two over the years. I was a little nervous about finding a quality guide for Verona because it isn’t as big a tourist city as other places in Italy and honestly, they weren’t a lot of choices. Luckily, we hit a home run with Lorella from A Guide in Verona/Verona Tours. Lorella was simply fabulous. She is probably one of the best tour guides we have had anywhere. Her knowledge of art and history are unmatched and she is just easy to talk to. We felt like we were meeting with an old friend. What’s more is we absolutely loved Verona. It is a beautiful city and we are already making plans to return. Do not hesitate to book a tour with A Guide in Verona/Verona Tours.

Lorella was a wonderful guide on this e bike tour of Verona. Her lively personality and stories made us see the city in a special light and I highly recommend for anybody who comes to Verona to take that tour.

Hello R. and thank you! We believe that our private e-bike tour is indeed the perfect type of tour for Verona especially in this particular time. It allows to see more, including districts and views that add value to the tour and to the understanding of Verona. It is not too long and not so tiring being Verona on a flat ground. This private bike tour is really suitable to visitors from 12 to 70-80 years of age in good physical conditions Keep biking when you get back home! Biking is the new normal. Personalized walking tour, including history via architecture.

Even though I have been to Verona many times, Valeria was able to show me many hidden sights that I had missed. She is a knowledgeable scholar as well as an entertaining raconteur. She brought Verona to life, from Roman times through the Renaissance, to post WWII, all the while walking me across the very stones of history. Skipping the main tourist attractions, she seemed to delight in describing places less well known, which was perfect for me. Clearly, she loves her city and her job, and I was the happy beneficiary.

We were Venice based but decided to have a day in Verona via high speed train and were very glad that we did. It’s a fascinating city with lots to see and the experience was considerably enhanced by our knowledgeable, friendly guide who spoke faultless English. Valeria is evidently qualified in the study of Roman architecture and we benefited from her extensive, related knowledge. Four of us pre-arranged, via email, this private tour with her. She collected us from the railway station and we toured with her for over 3 hours which was enough time to see most of the city. We paid a little extra to enter the amphitheatre but it was money well spent overall. She pointed us to a restaurant for lunch when we finished and the meal was as good as the tour.

Fascinating visit to two of Carlo Scarpa's projects, including a tour of the bank

We cannot thank Valeria enough for organising this very special tour and also for all the fascinating information she gave us along the way. We have tried and failed in the past to get access to see the bank interior so this was a special treat.

Having read the other reviews, next time we visit Verona we will have to try the wine tour!

Customer tour exactly tailored to our request

We were not first time visitors to Verona and wanted some unique, less obvious experiences. Lorella customized a walking and auto tour combination perfectly. Lunch on San Mattia was exceptional. i would highly recommend Lorella and her team, for first timers or return visitors.

Five Private Tours of Verona, Wine Country and Rice Paddies with the BEST!!

Words cannot describe how grateful we are that we found a tour guides like Valeria for four days and Lorella for our final day in Verona. Valeria was absolutely wonderful, warm & friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She was very careful not to 'oversell' the tours with us as we very enthusiastic about 'seeing everything'. Valeria was very quick to recognize our desires & personality types. She quickly adapted some of our tours to meet our needs. Each tour was done with care, patience & focus on intricate details. The wine tour was amazing! Private and personal with two different wineries that were outstanding!! Lorella took us to the rice paddies where we saw an ancient rice mill, the rice paddies, surrounding farm land and finished with a fabulous lunch in a local restaurant where we were delighted with a tasting menu of three risottos!! Lorella was also extremely intelligent & knowledgeable. In addition, their responsiveness via email while planning this trip was fantastic and porfessional. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Verona Tours led by Valeria and Lorella!! They are FIVE STAR GUIDES!!

Not so much a guide, as a friend

We had booked a three-hour guided Tour with Lorella. After “pre-Tour” emails, Lorella was aware of my walking issues. This allowed her to arrange a fantastic Tour of Verona, with suitable “rest stops” at some of the most picturesque places in Verona, including a cafè stop for chilled orange juice and fabulous cake. (My favourite stop 😋)

The best aspect from our point of view was Lorella’s delivery of the Tour. It was more “a friend” telling and showing us the essential parts of Verona’s history and architecture, rather than a “Tour Guide”. This aspect of the Tour grew as the morning progressed, and our conversations were so much more satisfying, adding to our enjoyment of Verona as a city.

Without realising it, the Tour lasted for more than the three hours, there was no hint of finishing until Lorella had completed her knowledgeable and informative talk.

We asked her to join us for lunch, but unfortunately she had another Tour booking with a French family of six. We completely understood the fact that her diary was full, as she gave us the perfect introduction to Verona, which directly influenced our itinerary for the next two days.

We cannot recommend Verona Tours highly enough.

Dear Ian and Sandra, thank you for your wonderful words! We love taking care ouf our guests, trying to understand their personality and expectations from the very first email. So, it was no surprise at all when we met: the feeling that you were a discerning and a well traveled couple with a warm attitude towards people (and good food) was not wrong. I am happy to know you have celebratetd a very, very special ruby red anniversary (.. 1one year later...) in Verona! Each one of our guests is unique and special, so each tour we deliver, has to become a memory for the lifetime, not only for you but also for us! I wish you to celebrate many more magic anniversaries travelling and enjoying the time together.
