Perfect Puglia with less then Perfect Food with Tourradar

Booked with Tourradar to stay in a Trulli home (that was very nice) who assured us that since meals were included, we'd have choices. Meals were mostly inedible not even in restaurants. i.e., shared salad and one small chicken thigh, with a plastic warm cup of fruit cocktail for desert...
One night we sat alone in basement banquet room surrounded by dusty storage boxes and food was not edible so most of left the tour and ate on our own.. Several people who booked with other tour groups have been refunded immediately but Tourradar refuses to refund me when the Italian tour operator has sent back to them my partial refund.. I have been in Italy 40 times since college and never had such an experience and such bad food.

An interesting and full day out.

Gianluca arranged for my group of 5 old friends a full day private tour. We visited Ostuni, Alberobello, along with a visit to a family owned olive farm which was very interesting, lunch in a Masseria and a wine tasting- which was delightful as the young lady sommelier certainly knew her stuff. We needed a rest when we returned to our B&B in brindisi. Also, special mention - we were supposed to take this tour in the spring of 2020.............Gianluca held our deposit and honoured it for this trip. Much appreciated Gianluca!!

Alberobello and Locorotondo, a must do when in Puglia

We had a very nice trip to Alberobello and Locorotondo with Giovanni from Tours of Puglia.
Giovanni was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, friendly and patient, eager to share with us very interesting stories.
He also arranged for us a lunch in a typical restaurant with authentic local dishes.
We had a great time abd we were happy to truly feel the local atmosphere.
Thank you a lot Giovanni and Tours of Puglia!

Tours of Puglia-A Perfect 10 for Quality, Customized Itineraries!

We were very pleased with the customized itinerary of Apulia arranged for us! The guides were so knowledgeable of the history of the region and each brought their unique perspective and personal interests to the tour. They were such different personalities and so interesting and pleasant to spend time with. The drivers were also great. We felt personally safe and well cared for by our entire tour team. We so appreciate the effort Francesca put into packing in as much as possible from our wishlist. I think the only thing we realized the last day was how challenging it was to do Matera and Alberobello in one day. In retrospect, we could have skipped Cisterino and made 1 day of Martina Franca (which we especially loved!) and Alberobello and another day with more time in Matera. Even though we booked close to last minute in high season Tours of Puglia gave us a wonderful 4 days with fabulous guides and for that, we say, grazie mille! Also, terrific value for the price paid.

Best of Puglia in 7 days

My main takeaway of this trip is Gianluca and Francesca are efficient to whip up a demanding tour itinerary to suit my family's requirements during pandemic and winter time. They were given barely a month to our arrival in Italy to plan a private tour that covered Castel del Monte, Trani, Matera, Alberobello, Polignano a Mare, Castellana Grotto, Itria's Valley, Ostuni, a bike tour along the Ancient Trajan Way, Lecce, and a sunset boat ride at the Heel of Italy. Grazie Mille!

Our private guide Flo met us each day, rain or shine, with a smile on her face. Nothing seemed to faze her. A personable lady, she was always happy to share her immense knowledge of the history of Puglia and we enjoyed listening to the stories. A proud advocate of agritourism, she gave us a sumptuous lunch in Matera restaurant serving local produce.

It can be seen that Tours of Puglia work well with the service providers across Puglia. Take our sunset tour at the Heel of Italy. Flo has worked with a boat owner willing to take us out in the cold winter afternoon so we silly tourists could say we have sailed on the Adriatic and Ionic Seas! We were also very fortunate to get photos of a floating Nativity Scene that had just been set up. A second example would be in Alberobello. Our hot water shower was not working well in our first night in our trullo. I sent a text to Gianluca that night and the very next morning at our breakfast time, he had the owner and his plumber sorting the heater out.

Cost wise, Tours of Puglia are able to list out the packages according to the client's requirements of whether accommodation is required and if yes, the standard of accommodation wanted. Gianluca is also very clear to set our expectations right, in terms of what a luxury 5-star accommodation is in Italy versus one in another part of the world. This type of clarification at the start or before a tour is very helpful to avoid misunderstandings and was much appreciated.

A happy experience; although we could not actually enjoy the trip!

I and my husband, and two friends from USA were planning a trip to Puglia this coming May. I contacted Francesca from Tours of Puglia and arranged two full days of customised touring. One was to be from Bari, the other from Lecce. I found that this Company was totally helpful, no detail too difficult, and was so very pleased with the itinerary we had arranged.
As we all know, the escalation world-wide of Covid-19 of course, meant that our plans needed to be cancelled.
Directly after my cancellation, I was delighted to find that my deposit was returned immediately.
I hope that we will be able to reactivate our plans - maybe in 2021 - and will be delighted to contact this Company again.
I am most happy to recommend Tours of Puglia to anybody considering a visit to Puglia when this crisis is over

We set up a 4 day tour during our visit to Puglia recently. Months ahead I contacted Tours of Puglia to help us get the most of our visit. Francesca asked us what we wanted to see instead of telling us “this is the Tours we have”. Our main goal was to visit our ancestral home of Alberobello. I also asked her recommendations, which she gladly provided. She set up a full 4 days of touring which included 2 night stays in Alberobello (Trullo houses) and Lecce. We visited all of the main sites of Puglia like Locorotondo, Matera , Ostuni, etc....she included an incredible meal each day, including a meal at a Masseria....our guides, Vincenzo and Flo were beyond incredible....they were like walking historic encyclopedias. Vincenzo was instrumental is us locating the street in Alberobello where our grandmother was born. They, and our drivers, went out of their way to insure we missed nothing. We were just 4, so everything could be personalized. Everything went as planned and we could not have asked for for more....we cannot recommend Tours of Puglia mort highly...

Best tour EVER!!

I looked at many tours of Puglia and found this one. The tour was beyond fantastic- the guides were exceptional and very personable, knowledgeable and fun to be with. The drivers were excellent winding around the small streets in each town. The hotels in Matera- we actually stayed in a cave, Alberobello in. Trilli house and the other places were each fantastic. The food was spectacular and we got to try so many delicious food types. You also get to learn about wine by tasting and olive oil. We experienced so much in this one week that the memories will last a lifetime. If you are looking to book a tour of Puglia THIS is the best one. Thank you Gianluca for making it so special and all the people that made it so special
