We had a private tour with Guiseppe to Mt. Edna, Castelmola (magical) and Taormina. Guiseppe was wonderful. Passionate about the area and knowledgeable. His driving around the island was top notch (if you know the drivers in this year, then you know this is a big deal) He accompanied up in a few stops but then gave us as much time on our own was we wanted. No time schedule, just want we wanted in each location.

Siracusa é uma jóia de lugar, com suas ruas estreitas e iluminadas por lâmpadas amarelas, imprimindo, à noite, uma atmosfera de sonho e fantasia. Seu teatro grego, super conservado, é um espetáculo à parte. Restaurantes, bares, praças, igrejas e monumentos, tudo respira arte e beleza. Noto é uma pequena cidade, a 2 horas de ônibus, cenário do famoso filme L’Aventura, de Antonioni, que também vale visitar. A Sicília é um tesouro! Imperdível!

Noi abbiamo visitato Siracusa e Ortigia sacrificando Noto solo per motivi di tempo ristretto a disposizione. L'esperienza è stata magnifica, il sito è un tuffo nella storia e Ortigia una perla di paese. Sì può girare a piedi o con i tram turistici che sono una bella risorsa per chi , come noi, viaggia con figli piccoli al seguito! Consigliatissime.

Amazing tour around Etna

We enjoyed our Etna tour very much, mostly thanks to Guiseppe, our guide who was very passionated about Sicily and knew a lot about it’s history. He took us on some extra stops regular guide buses doesn’t reach and showed us some interesting monuments.

The trip was a 60’s celebration of one in the company and Guiseppe really walked the extra mile to make it an unforgettable day.

The top of the mountain when it comes to Catania tours
This tour is not the cheapest and we bought it hoping that the cost would be worth it because you pack so much in and do it in the comfort of a private car, not caught up in a large group. I'm pleased to say we definitely feel like we made a good choice! Not only did we squeeze in a LOT we did it without feeling rushed, we feel like we had a bonus on top by having had Giuseppe as our guide. He was very relaxed, friendly, and open to great conversation throughout the day. He taught us more than the websites would and we felt like we were being shown around by a friend. We only wish he could show us around Palermo too because we're a bit lost here 😂

This trip was amazing, Guiseppe is so knowledgable and passionate about Etna it was enjoyable and educational. We couldn't believe what good value for money this trip was and it was a really special moment of our holiday.

I cannot recommend this enough to anyone wanting to explore Etna and sample some delicious Italian food and wine.

Fantastic trip that made our holiday brilliant 🇮🇹
We were collected from our hotel at 8.30am by our guide Giuseppe. We had the most amazing day, absolutely amazing. Our guide was very informative. He also arranged for us to visit Castello degli Schiavi. We were taken on a guided tour by the owner of the property and was a real highlight for us. We were out with our guide for 7 hours and it was brilliant, would recommend to any fans of The Godfather movies and it was also lovely to see more of Sicily.

Wow, we really loved this tour. My daughter and I will cherish our memories forever. Guiseppe picked us up right outside our rental apartment and drove us up Mt. Etna from there. He took us to some interesting sights along the way and gave us background about the eruptions over the last few decades that have changed the landscape. He also explained the three-legged symbol of Sicily along the way. He took us to the entry point of the official Mt. Etna park and waited while we took the cable car to as high as it goes. You do have to pay an extra 30 euros a person to the park in order to take the cable car, but it is worth it. Once you get up there, it is much cooler, so shorts and a long sleeve shirt were the bare minimum. If you choose to hike as high as you are possibly allowed, you can rent a winter coat and other gear (we did not). Just this part of the tour was life-changing. We spent about 2 1/2 hours in total while Guiseppe waited patiently in the car.

We could have gone home at that point and it would have been an amazing day, but no, he then took us to a honey farm. We appreciated this short stop immensely. Guiseppe explained how they extract the honey from the honeycomb and then give the honeycomb back to the bees. We tasted about a dozen different honeys, and tasted olives, about 10 different olive oils, 4-5 different wines. Just going to this honey shop was unforgettable, but then we went to the Gambino winery. Winery personnel give you a brief tour and then seat you for lunch. Don't worry, you won't go away hungry or thirsty. We tasted their white, rose, and red wines; I believe 5 in total but I could have missed one. We couldn't even finish everything they gave us. I couldn't have driven after that lunch; fortunately, Guiseppe was there to be our driver! Oh, be sure to take time to smell and taste the herbs. They are stronger and more aromatic than you are probably accustomed to.

After this wonderful experience, Guiseppe drove us to the charming beach town of Taormina. On this tour you don't get a lot of time at Taormina; it's just to get a taste of what's there. Once you are there you realize you need to go back and stay much longer, which we did the next day, so Guiseppe's tour was perfect for reconnaissance. It is a beautiful town with great shopping, great food, a Greco-Roman theater, and great views; you really want to spend hours and hours there. We then drove back to our starting point in Catania. It was about 9 hours in total, and we loved every minute of it. Thank you for the memories, Guiseppe!
