Quick bus tour of the highlights

If you want a short tour to see the highlights then this sightseeing bus is for you. There is a recorded guide that rotates through multiple languages that is sufficient. It could have been louder, though.

Never again. Worst experience possible

Don’t waste your time. One of the worst things we have done.

Feel like a complete and utter waste of time and money.

Buses cramped. Promised lots of English commentary but driver kept skipping this.

15€ bezahlt. Angeblich mit Erklärung in verschiedenen Sprachen. Es läuft nur Musik. Schon an der ersten Station stehen wir 15 Minuten rum. Völlig sinnlos. Man kann nur warnen!

Don’t do it!

Torture! Don’t waste your money! Just get a taxi to where you want to go. It’s so unorganised and they play the most awful tune all the way round. It’s torture. The second trip (the beach took 1.25 hours each way. The first one went up to a church then back down and that was it . You could not get off at the first one only the church. There is no air conditioning on the bus and the driver keeps stopping every few miles for 5 mins.

Absolutely terrible experience. Double Decker bus has no Aircon at 35c. 2 Kids with us, sights were none existent, driver rude when asked 'how long until we set off?'. The alleged beach, its not a beach....Then, the repetitive music, omg.... By a distance the worst tour ever, put your money into a taxi.

Worth a visit

Messina can easily be seen on foot if you don't mind walking up a few hills or steps. There are several sights to see especially the churches. 2 are high up and offer spectacular views over the town. We walked along the streets and came across some lovely fruit and veg markets and there are many cafes to sit outside and have a nice drink. We finished off with a visit to the Basilica Cattedrale at 11.00 to watch the wonderful astronomical clock in action.
Overall streets could be a lot cleaner but we'll worth a visit

Don't! Just don't if you want to see beautiful Messina!

Tickets sellers out side the cruise terminal sell too many tickets! Impossible to get on and so so stressful.

Save your blood pressure going through the roof because you cannot use your 20 euro tickets as their are literally hundreds of people trying to get onto 1 - yes one, 30 seater bus every 40 minutes and 20 minutes on the blue line.

So, the odds aren't great that you will ever see beautiful Messina on this tour

Super disappointing and feel for their staff that were being yelled at constantly

Do not waste your money

We have been on many City Sightseeing tours in various countries but this was a shambles as soon as we stepped off the ship. Too many ticket sellers and not enough people helping with people to get on a bus. Say the bus comes every 20min, but the buses that did come were always already full. Only hold 30 passengers and hundreds trying to get on. When we finally got on the "blue" line, total trip was 30min.the queue for the red line was massive so we walked to the clock tower which is an absolute must see at 12.00 noon for the clock show that goes for 12 min), waited an hour and a half at the designated pick up point, which was a large wooden cut out of a City Sightseeng bus, finally took the 5min walk back to the main pick up point only to be told no we don't pick up from there any more, not for past 2 years, but maps ( and signs) still say they do. Was then told last red bus left 20 min ago but it was full and next one is 1hour 10min away. Gave up and walked back to ship. Don't waste your money, if you are reasonably fit and healthy, WALK, you will see a lot more and you will enjoy beautiful Messina much much more.

Messina Poorly Portrayed by these Clowns

Even though the cost of this tour is low you still feel ripped off when you leave. There are no headsets so you get prerecorded verbiage….occasionally in 6 different languages that provides absolutely no value. There is nothing to see on this tour and likely does Messina a disservice based on how they present it. There is nothing to see on this tour and at one point when we did get off the bus to take some photos of the waters edge and we made contact with the driver to make ensure we had 5 minutes before the bus left, he confirmed through a head nod so about 10 folks got off and went the 10 yards to snap a picture, then the bus left. Since we did not anticipate the bus to depart, 3 of those that had left the bus had spouses still on the bus. The bus driver told abandoned spouses that those that got off would have to wait for the next bus to pick them/us up. We were verbally told when we purchased tickets that buses run every 20 minutes but when you look at the brochure it states the line we were on the cycle is every 60 minutes. We waited 45 minutes until our original bus was returning on the same route and we all ran across the street to stop him since I am pretty sure he had no intention of stopping. Luckily for him and us, he did stop. Do yourself a favour and stay away.

FYI - if you do decide to roll the dice with this disaster of a company don’t get off the bus and when they try and sell a ticket for $20, pay $10, this is the real rate.

Not what we signed up for

If you enjoy a bit of hair pulling and pushing then this is the trip for you....this was our experience while trying to board the bus ....not well-organised at all and staff just allowing this to happen ....the tour itself was fine ...we only had time for the blue so missed the coast trip ......
