Giorgio Calò was the consummate guide and driver! My wife and I recently went on a trip to Sicily and Georgio picked us up at the airport and the next day took us for a guided tour of Monreale and Segesta, both excursions out of Palermo. He is extremely professional, prides himself in a deep understanding of the history and archeology of the area, is attentive to detail and takes the service he provides very seriously. I would strongly recommend using his services to tour that region of Sicily; a remarkable place to visit and a wonderful tour guide.

Giorgio C. picked up my cousin and I in Palermo in his beautiful, comfortable, clean Mercedes mini van to take us to Burgio and Palazzo Adriano, the birthplace of our grandparents. With perfect English he shared a wealth of information on Sicily and our grandparents towns. When arriving in Burgio after rerouting due to a road closure, we discovered our grandmother was Not born there. We showed Giorgio another document with misspelled illegible writing of the town and due to his extensive knowledge of Sicily he was able to decipher the writing and found that she was born in Bivona. Because of his persistence and flexibility, he took us to both towns where we were able to get both birth certificates! And on top of all this, he found family homes for us to see! Giorgio far exceeded our expectations and when we come back to Sicily with our families he will be the first one we call!

Giorgio Calo was an amazing driver/tour guide. His love of history and archeology is more than obvious along with his love of Sicily. I am a mature woman with a disability who walks with a cane. My daughter gave me this trip, so it was just the two of us. He was patient and kind and never once complained about how slowly I was moving.
His knowledge of the different areas and the local stories is unbelievable. We are planning on coming back to Sicily next year and will definitely have Giorgio as our driver again.
Another unexpected surprise was that we were able to go to the town hall in Messina and obtain my grandfather's birth certificate. Giorgio had called the town hall ahead of time with my grandfather's name and birth date and they were able to find it, what a great and memorable day.

Giorgio was referred to us by clients/friends and I can tell you we were not disappointed. We booked him for 2 days and probably should have hired him for the entire week we were there. It was my first time using a tour guide and I can tell you, it won’t be my last. He’ll be part of our next trip when we return in the future. He’s warm and welcoming and super easy to work with as well as has a wealth of knowledge of all things Sicilian. We could have visited the sites on our own and read the plaques but the amount of history we learned from Giorgio made the trip. Do yourself a favor and hire him for your trip.

The highlight of a long holiday in Europe, a memory for life, a precious part of our education: this is how I would rate our week with Giorgio Calo as our driver-guide on a December trip from Palermo, to Taormina and Syracuse and the towns of the Sicilian baroque. There was not a question on history and art that he couldn’t answer as a graduate in cultural tourism, and I’m a history graduate myself. He knew every mosaic, every Medieval tower, every Roman or Byzantine mosaic. He steered us to excellent restaurants- and not the expensive Michelin choices. And he was an excellent driver. Would absolutely use him again.

Giorgio was a fantastic guide throughout our whole 10 day trip to Sicily. His passion and love for Sicily deep history and culture left me a deep impression. The whole trip is indeed very enjoyable because of him. I will definitely recommend him to anybody who want to visit the wonderful and lovely Sicily ! 4 of my friends and I recently took a full 10 days Sicily tour with Giorgio. Though there weren't much reviews online on Giorgio and his company (did quite a bit of research), based on the reviews we read here and the reasonable quotation he offered, we decided to go ahead to do the tour with him.
We are so glad that we did not regret our decision. It was such an awesome and meaningful trip for us - we learnt so much from Giorgio about his beloved homeland as we traveled from Palermo, Tripani, Agrigento, Modica, Noto to Siracuse and Catania (just to name a few places). Giorgio is definitely not stingy in sharing his knowledge with us - from the history of places, churches and monuments to even the crops and plants that are growing in Sicily. The information he shared made us appreciate the lovely island that we chose to visit even more. The meals at the restaurants he recommended for lunch and dinner were too delicious too!
Thanks Giorgio for bringing us around and making the trip so effortless and extremely memorable for us!

We were the other couple with HEC140 below and fully agree with his review. Giorgio's command of English is excellent; he even picked up some of our slang words, such as boondocks, and used it the next day. His knowledge of Sicily goes well beyond history; on short notice he arranged a wonderful lunch and wine tasting at Gambino Winery. It's very apparent he loves his Sicily and wants you to understand why.

We had the good fortune to have Giorgio Cali as our guide and driver for six days in Sicily. He picked the four of us in Catania to visit Mt Aetna and regional sites especially Siracusa.Then we drove down to Valley of Temples and the Vila. We ended up in Palermo with a complete walking and drive to Palermo. Final day to Segesta. No doubt I left out several sites, but for each he is a fount of knowledge on history, Archeologica and geography.
Always on time and guiding us as he drove the Mercedes, we all concluded we had the finest guide Sicily offered. I wish I had done this trip earlier in my career to give depth to my own university instruction.
Giorgio became our friend throughout and we were sad to say goodbye. He loves Sicily and so did we as we left

Giorgio took my husband and me on two day trips, both of which were wonderful. The first trip was from Catania to Agrigento, and after a visit to the Valley of the Temples, on to Palermo. The history of the temples and the surrounding area came alive with Giorgio's descriptions and information. We had a lot of driving that day but were never bored thanks to discussions with Giorgio about the island in general, the farming and crops we were seeing and the inhabitants over time.
Our second day trip was to Monreale and Erice. While most group tours plunged into the church, Giorgio explained the reasons why the church was built and its provenance so when we visited the church inside many things made sense that would not have otherwise. Erice, with its beautiful views and unique character was only made better by Giorgio's commentary. Both days were great experiences. Thanks again, Giorgio.
