È un luogo di culto insolito, tutto scavato nella roccia, particolarmente suggestivo.
Noi siamo saliti col bus direzione Castelmola, ma la discesa verso Taormina la abbiamo fatta percorrendo i suggestivi scaloni da cui è possibile ammirare la città (con Piazza IX aprile ed il Teatro Greco in bella mostra) ed il mare sullo sfondo.
Non si può non andare a Taormina e non farci una visita.

Piccolo gioiellino appena sopra taormina raggiungibile anche attraverso una scalinata. Oltre alla vista panoramica, colpisce l'interno ricavato nella roccia. Particolare e suggestiva.

La cappella scavata nella roccia è molto suggestiva. Se non volete salire a piedi la lunga scalinata (che è in ombra nel pomeriggio...) potete salire con il bus di linea e fare la scalinata in discesa.

A pretty little church up loads to steps, but so worth the view. You can’t go all the way up to the castle but the view from the little church is amazing

Incredible church with a magical story of a boy caught in a storm who has a vision of the Madonna and there they built this exquisite chapel into the rocks and it has something very special, more than any church in Taormina.

Empruntez la voie crusis , située 2 rues au dessus de la rue principale pour vous rendre au sommet et découvrir cette chapelle creusée dans la roche. Une demi- heure de marche environ et de très nombreux escaliers pour vous hisser en haut de la colline.Vue exceptionnelle tout le long du parcours, c’est beau et tranquille. L’effort consenti vaut vraiment le coup.

Each time I come to Taormina, I make the climb of over 500 steps to the top to see this beautiful church at the pinnacle. The sea views are amazing as you climb up and you get a good view of the Teatro Antico!

The highlight of this excursion is the walk up to the church above town. The view along the way and at the top is amazing. The church itself is small with an unusual ceiling. Make sure you go to the back side of the church for views of the mountains and a refreshing granita at the little shop.

This nice church is on the hill above Taormina, so you can see the town and the sea below and upwards Castelmola and the Etna: Fantastic view, but the church itself is a unique, it’s worth a visit. You should wear comfortable shoes for climbing up.

We were coming to the end of our time in Taormina sadly but our guide wanted to take us to the top to see the view of city especially since it was a clear early evening before dusk. So glad we did and by car too as it would've been difficult to make it up being seniors! Small, quaint, friendly town with this very old church seemingly built into the mountain rock side as the main attraction. Not to be missed are the views especially Mr. Etna which was steaming at the time!

No you can get a taxi up. The people getting married may have organised a mini bus for guests, think that's what usually happens.
