This was one of our favorite things we did while in Florence all thanks to our incredible guide - Camilla. While we knew a little about the history of the Medici family, Camilla brought it all to life through her love of history and the incredible artwork featured inside the palace. The first half of our time together focused on the palace and priceless works of art featured inside. Camilla shared stores, provided context, and made the tour memorable. The second part of our tour was spent outside walking the incredible gardens behind the palace. After spending time walking around the city center, it was nice to hear birds and see the incredible scenery as you climb the hill to the top of the property. Just like a great teacher inspires us, Camilla had us talking for hours after our tour wrapped up. Definitely put this one on your list of things to do when you visit Florence.

I had a last minute problem with the date but Maurizio was super helpful in ensuring that I could experience the tour. Carmella was informed and knowledgeable about all things Medici and associated with the palace. She went a tad beyond the allocated time because we asked so many interesting questions. She was the consummate guide, providing toilet stops and little gems of special access. Can’t recommend the experience highly enough.

Our guide Daniela brought the gardens (without even walking in them), artwork and architecture in the Palatine Gallery to life with fascinating context surrounding the artists, artwork and times, as well as answered our questions without skipping a beat, and based on our individual interests, recommended other places to visit in other cities we would be visiting. She was so knowledgeable and we had such a fantastic experience we would highly recommend this tour!

Terrific tour! I can’t remember the name of our guide, oops, but she was super knowledgeable and kept my interest! I highly recommend this tour, and the steps up the bell tower as well! The views are gorgeous!!

We were only in Florence for a couple of days and eager to see as much as we could. Opting for this guided tour, with our guide Camilla was definitely the right play, as we saw and learned so much about these important Florence landmarks.
The tour focused on the Baptistery, the Cathedral and the Duomo Museum. The admission ticket included in this tour also covered unguided access (i.e., on your own) to Giotto's Belltower within 72 hours of the tour. Since our visit was so short, we weren't interested in climbing the tower and appreciated that it was separate from the guided tour, allowing us to focus on our primary interest in the Baptistery, Cathedral, and museum.
Camilla was an excellent guide [as well as being easy to understand and follow for those of us whose hearing abilities have declined over the years]. She also was great in pacing our group.
Her "day job" (my words) is as a art restorer, but as she is passionate about sharing these wonderful treasures, she also does some tour guiding. Lucky for us (my husband, myself, and two others), we got to learn so much about these important Florence sights from her -- their wonderful history, the beautiful art they contain, the amazing artists that created them, the culture surrounding them, and so much more.
Thank you for so enriching our Florence experience, Camilla.
p.s. unfortunately, when we visited the Baptistery, its ceiling was still being restored so we were unable to see and appreciate the incredible mosaics. Other parts of the interior, however, were nonetheless impressive. I only mention it here should someone read this review soon after my Feb, 2023 posting and be interested in viewing the ceiling. To get an accurate update on the renovation, I suggest you post on Tripadvisor rather than rely on the official website (which when I checked it showed that the renovation work was to be completed by December 18, 2022, which it was not).

The belltower was off limits to go up as not safe! The Florence Cathedral begun in 1296 and completed in 1436,whwn the Dome was added It is UNESCO World Heritage

Per quanto riguarda i tours da noi svolti in lingua italiana, dobbiamo dirle che sono in programma il sabato e la domenica - eccetto la prima domenica del mese, per il momento.
