Sehr schöner kleinerer See in der Grenzregion der Kantone Bern und Neuchâtel.
Viele sehenswerte historische Städtchen (Erlach, La Neuveville, Twann) und tolle Bademöglichkeiten.
Auch eine Schiffahrt lohnt sich.

Wasn't a fan of Biel Lake, maybe because I came with high expectations. Compared to Lake Geneva or Lake Neuchatel, the water was not as crystal clear and at least in Biel and La Neuveville there were no nice paths along the lake to walk. In Neuveville it was basically closed because people built houses by the lake, such a shame. In Biel it was on the opposite direction from the center of the city, did not find a nice beach. Maybe by car you can find some nice places. I saw on photos that the wine villages around the lake should be pretty nice. But still the lake itself was disappointing in these both cities.

Es war etwas regnerisch am Morgen und der Bielersee lag im Dunst! Es klarte zunehmend auf und die Weinberge wurden immer sichtbarer.
Die Innenstadt von Biel ist sehenswert! Alte wunderschöne Gebäude mit vielen Blumen vor den Fenstern.

It was a wonderful experience seeing and feeling the splendour of Lake Biel. It was on the 06th of August, 2020, when I was able to pass by Lake Biel and being able to savour the scent of nature. I was mesmerised by it because it was so clean, clear and blue. If a traveller would want to spend more time there, one should take a cruise experience. I would have spent more time cruising the whole neighbourhood within the lake, well, next time.

C’est animé en été et convivial. Beaucoup de possibilités de boire un verre ou manger. Très jolie promenade à faire le long du lac en passant par le port. Parking payant très proche

Wunderschön! Historische Städtchen, wie Erlach oder La Neuveville. Die Rebberge und die Winzerdörfchen, z.b. Twann. Laufen Sie auf die Insel von JJ Rousseau oder lassen Sie sich hin schippern. Besichtigen Sie Winzerkeller. Velofahrt oder wandern Sie den Rebenweg. 3 Seen Fahrt, Biel-Neuchâtel-Murten. Von Biel nach Solothurn auf der Aare. Chasseral, höchster Berg der Jurakette. Baden im See.

Biel /Bienne, a bi-lingual city in Switzerland, does not seem to enjoy a good reputation. But, we found it delightful and worth a 1-2 day visit. Its old city/ vieille ville is very picturesque and peaceful with many good cafes and restaurants and attractive shops. The Lake is very pretty, as is much of the modern city. The Museum (Neues Museum) is quite good. There is something in the air in Biel, many young people, which makes it an attractive place to visit.
