No bins please take all your rubbish home! We picked up a discarded poo bag and took it away with us. Lovely haven to meander around for 45 minutes on a hot summers afternoon.
Great place to take children to burn off some energy in a safe walled place. However,be mindful that the stairs are steep and uneven in places.
There is little signage to tell you about the palace and it's different parts,for example the night soil is not labelled but being a history buff I was able to describe it's use in graphic detail.
The dogs thoroughly enjoyed being able to explore unimpeded and go every where we did.
No toilets etc but it's free and well worth a visit if you are in the area

The ruins of this palace are just that. You can still see what used to be there but there is little information. allow yourself half an hour to walk around. There is parking opposite the entrance and it is a pleasant walk in the open air.

Please don’t go here!! There’s no shop, ice cream or toilets….but it’s the most beautiful haven, a piece of history to explore at your leisure with only local dog walkers for company. The difficulty finding the entrance helps (follow the wall, that’s all I’m going to say!) Free parking and free entry. Perfect for a picnic and exploring the ruins. Bring swimwear in good weather as the river is still near the lower gate and a perfect place for a dip.

Easy to acces, and free to visit, this place is very peaceful. The entry kisosk was not manned, so we had to walked round the side to find a way in, but it is good that it is open to the public. I would have liked to see more panels of explanations of the various areas, but it was an emjoyable visit, though I shudder when I think about the evident opulence of the Bishops who spent time there.

This is an incredibly well preserved ruin and quite safe in all areas. The whole area is walled with large, open, grassed spaces.

An unexpected find. Quiet setting, and far more extensive ruins than we'd expected, with boards that explain it well. We took about 45 minutes to work our way round it. Pity the little kiosk is still shut, but for free entry you can't complain. The hotel guests opposite are lucky to have this on their doorstep! It makes a good comparison with the palace at St David's, as both owed their form to the same man.

We thoroughly enjoyed meandering around these ruins. It was well kept and offered plenty of information about the sight. I would imagine it is a vey underaged place to visit
