This was one of the best museums we've ever visited. Everything is beautifully presented in a modern and stylish way.
I had no idea how much the Philips company had touched our lives. Whether it was seeing the first images of our children produced by a Philips scanner at the hospital, or listening to my first music on one of their cassette recorders or CD players.
We particularly liked the way that the information was presented. We never felt overloaded with facts. It was perfect!
The sign of a good museum (for me anyway) is whether you can come away having learnt something new. There was SO much to learn here. Of particular note is the interactive exhibits near the end and how Philips helped a fledgling music industry on their way.
We also ended up spending a small fortune in the very well stocked Gift Shop. They have some utterly fantastic items for sale! I love my "test card" bag and light bulb vase.
Staff were very friendly. Parking nearby at the Q-Park Heuvel was expensive, but at least our car was safe and it was a short walk to the museum.
This is a fantastic museum and comes highly recommended.

Philips is one of those ubiquitous brands that everyone knows. The history of the company and the products is also absolutely fascinating. The tour starts with a short actor-led demonstration. Unfortunately for us, there was a very large Dutch party present so the demo was, understandably, in Dutch. I would have liked to watch again in English but time didn't permit. Wondering round the museum gives a fascinating insight into the impact that Philips has had over the years. There are electronic devices that everyone will recognise from their youth, and reading the history as you go, it'll become clear that Apple were not the first tech company to develop on a usability first approach.
The company's links with the football club PSV, was something that hadn't registered for me until this trip, but it makes absolute sense now.
The museum is staffed, mainly, by older people. Philips historically have always employed people long past the general retirement age, even when they started, which at the time was very unusual, and it seems they have continued that tradition today. Philips is a conscientious employer and the museum is a fabulous walk through time from the beginnings of the company right through to the modern innovations they are currently working on.
Lastly, the cafe at the end is also exceptional. Very good prices and decent traditional food (Dutch hotdogs are something to experience).

By the way, many of the older people staffing the museum are retired Philips employees who are proud to do this "work" voluntarily because they appreciate Philips as their former employer.

Really interesting museum, charting the history of 2 household names. I’d never realised the connection between Philips and PSV Eindhoven!!
Very friendly, helpful staff, who speak fluent English as well as Dutch. All labels and info, and the museum website, are in English and Dutch. There is a treasure hunt for small children, “Eureka!” Quiz trail for olde kids and audio guide in several languages. Well laid out and full of surprises,
I’d absolutely recommend this museum to anyone with a couple of hours to spare in Eindhoven. It’s just a few minutes walk from the main train station. We took the Park and Ride bus from Meerhoven.

Wij hebben ons echt vermaakt met de exposities. Mijn echtgenote was bang dat het alleen maar over techniek zou gaan, maar niets is minder waar! Zij vond het net zo fascinerend als ik om te zien hoe philips in zijn bestaansgeschiedenis geworden is wat het nu is. Enige minpuntje was een suppoost/vrijwilliger die de hele tijd door het filmpje van de oude fabrieksopstelling door bleef praten.

Dank je wel voor je opmerkingen en beoordeling. We zijn blij om te horen dat je van je bezoek aan ons museum, hartje Eindhoven hebt genoten. Fijn dat je een bezoek aanraadt en dat je de manier waarop we het "Philips" verhaal vertellen waardeert.

Like a lot of people, I'm familiar with the Philips brand, but this museum gives a great insight into how the company started and it's journey to be a leader in product development and innovation. Nice flowing exhibits, which are enhanced by the audio guide.
I was invited to attend a lecture on innovations. Really interesting, and well presented.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice shop and cloakrooms.

I have a 1980's Philips Cooktronic M710 Microwave oven (Model AVM710/PH) still in good working order. This has now been brought out of store to replace an equally elderly Sharp Carousel 11 oven. I'm a little perplexed as to what on one of the dials the numbers 1 to 10 represent as they relate to cooking time functionality. With this concern in mind I should greatly appreciate the possibility of obtaining from You a copy of an original Operators Manual. It would also be helpful to have an idea of this equipment's Wattage and as to whether there is still any remote possibility of being able to obtain a correct oven lamp bulb as this has blown. The detail of this reads as follows: 230-240V-20W-Philips-7648M21?, - then a box with a diagonal line through it followed by J4.
