Visited late on Sunday night with my wife, and we throughly enjoyed the history of the house and were amazed at the Catholic Church in the attic.
Definitely recommend everyone who visits Amsterdam to go here.

Extremely interesting! It is definitely worth the visit!!! Not only do you see the church in the attic, but you visit various rooms in the home that display the way of life at that time. Highly recommend. It is something quite different.

Het was een overweldigende ervaring. Wat een interessante geschiedenis gevat in een imposant huis, dat de toenmalige tijd en omstandigheden zo mooi weergeeft.
De ontvangst zaterdagmorgen was aller vriendelijkst. Onze complimenten aan de medewerker ook van onze Franse gasten, die hij in hun moedertaal foutloos te woord stond.

This museum is a hidden gem. It is a home that is hundreds of years old, which hid a secret Catholic chapel in it’s attic. You will receive a small recorder in your language which corresponds to displays in every room. Point and listen. The history of traditions and customs is fascinating. There are artifacts from secular living of families who lived there, as well as sacred spaces. Please know that there are lots of little rooms to investigate, and some stairs are more like ladders, but original to the home. Free lockers and a coat room are also provided.

Historic Catholic Church built 250 years ago on top of three homes on the canal. The exhibits are superb and the church itself is mesmerizing. An audio tour takes you through the history and background. I found this fascinating…. Takes st least one hour with many narrow and difficult staircases

Me ha encantado este museo!! ( Nuestro señor en el ático)
No es muy conocido pero merece la pena ir, nosotros nos llevamos una grata sorpresa.
Es la única iglesia clandestina que queda intacta ( de las muchas que había en Amsterdam) pero antes de llegar al ático dónde está ubicada podrás ver la casa que se conserva tal cuál era, además está todo muy bien explicado con audio guía en español si se desea. Un trocito de historia de Amsterdam muy interesante!!
No es muy conocido pero merece la pena ir, nosotros nos llevamos una grata sorpresa.
Es la única iglesia clandestina que queda intacta ( de las muchas que había en Amsterdam) pero antes de llegar al ático dónde está ubicada podrás ver la casa que se conserva tal cuál era, además está todo muy bien explicado con audio guía en español si se desea. Un trocito de historia de Amsterdam muy interesante!!

Het museum is veel groter en completer dan dat het aan de buitenkant lijkt.
Het geeft een mooi beeld van een schuilkerk, maar vooral ook van het gebruik van de huizen door eeuwen heen.
De rondleiding die wij hadden was heel leuk en leerzaam.
Echt een leuke en leerzame ervaring voor alle leeftijden.

An interesting part of History when Catholic Churches (and worshippers) had to keep out of sight. Hence many ‘churches’ were ‘built’ in the houses… and this one was built in the attic across three houses. The whole place is wonderfully recreated with the splendid Church in the Attic…

A very well set out canal house museum. It is lit in such a way as to recreate how the house would’ve been in the living areas, basically not light at all.
The church in the attic is quite staggering in terms the effort gone to in creating it.
Some excellent views across the city from the higher windows.
Do use the audio guide and take the time to sit and go through the short 3 min introduction as well as looking at the model of the house.
Well worth the visit.

I do not know for sure, but if it were me I’d feel comfortable going without a specific time reservation. There were about 6 people when we visited, it’s not like visiting a major museum.

Lo può prendere tranquillamente al momento della visita. Nel prezzo è compresa l'audioguida in italiano.
Bellissima la visita a questo museo della "Chiesa nascosta" trascurato dai turisti per gli altri musei celebri.

Yes 1 hour will do it. We bought Iamsterdam card so we had a lot of museums to visit. You could linger for longer if desired. Check out my 5 day itinerary for other places to visit. If travelling with kids the Science museum NEMO is a must. Enjoy, it's a wonderful city.

No I do not believe there will be in July. We were there about 10 in the morning. No line whatsoever.
Here's the phone # +31(0)20 6246 604. Only lines we have experienced regarding museums ( Anne Frank's Museum) we purchased on line tickets with a date and time (strongly recommend) otherwise YOU WILL STAND IN LINE FOR SOME TIME!!
