Hortus Botanicus (Botanical Gardens) is een verrassing als je van planten houdt!
Het begint al in de prehistorie, met de planten die er toen waren op de aarde.
Verder allemaal planten en enkele bloemen, binnen en buiten.
Tip: Bijzonder dat je zaden van aparte bomen kunt kopen!
Tip: Houd er rekening mee dat het parkeren op straat enkel met een dagkaart kan, u kunt beter een parkeergarage opzoeken.
Tip: Houd rekening met het seizoen!

The botanical gardens offer a wide variety of plants from all over the world. The' cafeteria offer very peculiar and excellent dishes made with the gardens' seasonal produce.

Eerst heerlijk gegeten bij het café. Daarna alle tuinen en kassen bezocht. Heel leuk waren de kassen waarin de kikkertjes naar elkaar kwaakten. Op een warme zomerdag is het te heet in de kassen.

The gardens were gorgeous. We were very lucky to see the Amorphophallus titanum, though it wasn't in flower at that point. They had a beautiful sacred lotus that was in flower and the pond with the koi fish in was beautiful. The upper floor of the greenhouse was gorgeous. The giant lillypads were incredible. There were also lots of benches around if you wanted to sit down and listen to nature. I also really enjoyed looking at their carnivorous plant collection.

Sehr schön angelegte und auch informativ achten in zentraler Lage. Einen Besuch wert ist auch das Café. Ein ruhiger Pol in der Innenstadt.

Mooie botanische tuin met een zeer grote verscheidenheid aan planten en bomen. Vooral de oude bomen buiten maakte grote indruk. In de tropische kas bloeien prachtige planten. Een bezoek is zeker de moeite waard.

Mooie kassen en tuin, af en toe wel wat rommelig. Wij hebben ons prima vermaakt maar vond 8 euro wel wat prijzig voor dat wat je kreeg

Parc botanique qui n'a d'interet que pour les étudiants dans ce domaine. Seule la serre tropicale sort un peu du lot. Tout le reste n'est qu'experimentations laissées en l'état. Je n'en garderai pas un souvenir imperissable.

You need a ticket or a national museum card. I don't know the cost for an individual visit as I have the national card - well worth it if you are visiting several attractions during your stay in the Netherlands.
There is a restaurant/coffee facility which is very nice and you can use without paying for access to the garden.
There is no onsite parking.If you are lucky can park close on the Rapenburgh otherwise use Haagweg parking and shuttle bus.

You can walk around for 1 up to 2 hours, depending on the time you have. If cold weather you can spend 30 min. up to an hour in the orangeries, where you find tropical weather.

We don't have our own parking. You could park at the Haagweg parking, where a little bus takes you anywhere you want to go. It also stops near the Hortus.
