Dit is slechts 1 ruimte die vol hangt met schilderijen. Eerlijk gezegd was ik niet onder de indruk. Het is aardig om te bekijken, maar hiervoor zou ik niet speciaal naar Den Haag gaan. Het is leuk in combinatie met de Gevangen Poort, die ernaast ligt (zelfde ingang).

This Galerij Prins Willem V consists of basically only 1 room. But what a collection of beautiful and interesting paintings. A syllabus in both English and Dutch explains the details of the paintings. Take an hour and another day again an hour and just enjoy what you see. Very nice experience.

In late November,I visited the Prince William V Gallery in the Hague.It is connected to the Mauritshuis and your Mauritshuis ticket includes admission to the Prince William V Gallery.I leisurely studied the Prince William V Gallery's paintings produced primarily by 17th Century Dutch and Flemish Masters for about four hours,since I am a connoisseur.Many of the paintings were produced by highly skillful "Minor Dutch and Flemish Masters".The paintings at this art museum are arranged Gallery Style,unlike the Mauritshuis.
Personal favorites that day were Caesar Everdingen's"Diogenes Looking For Honest Man",Bartolomeus Van Bassen's"Interior of Catholic Church",Hendrick Van Steenwyck the Younger's"Square With Imaginary Buildings",Abraham Storck's"Moorage"(superb harbor scene by stellar painter of ships),Emanuel de Witte's"Old Church,Amsterdam",Gysbrecht Leytens'"Winter Landscape With Wood Gatherers"and Italian Painter,Marcantonio Franceshini's"Adam and Eve".(Italian Painter).
Even though,I prefer the Mauritshuis to the Prince William V Gallery,my visit to this smaller art museum was worthwhile.

I went to visit this gallery in August with my parents and my boyfriend, after having already visited the Mauritshuis museum.
Very nice gallery, really small, but a must see.
We spent a full hour inside the gallery as my parents are very passionate about painting.

If you go the Maurithuis (a long block away), then you should come here as well as both are included in the Maurithuis admission fee. Although this gallery is just one large room, it is wall to wall paintings, at least 40 or more. There are many 17th century Dutch masters, as well as some Flemish masters such as Rubens. These are very high quality paintings, much better than one would expect in a house collection. It is more like the Royal Picture Gallery in London than a palace collection.

Your ticket from Mauithuis allows entry to this gallery as well. It’s close by. So many paintings in the large gallery, it’s hard to take them all in. There is a laminated guide to pick up for use in the room, and it provides details of the art. The security guard watched my expression when I entered the room- my jaw dropped in awe- and he said it’s beautiful, yes? Very beautiful- a wonderful collection and well worth a visit.

Het ligt naast de gevangenpoort.
De schilderijen valt onder Mauritshuis, bij reservering krijgen we ticket van Mauritshuis en we kunnen die wisselen bij de kassa.
De Galerij was vol met schilderijen en hier waren geen uitleg borden, zoals bij Mauritshuis wel het geval zijn. En er zijn hier ook geen kantine.
De schilderijen valt onder Mauritshuis, bij reservering krijgen we ticket van Mauritshuis en we kunnen die wisselen bij de kassa.

Bezoek gebracht aan dit museum, het is vrij leerrijk, heel leuk om te zien hoe het in het verleden eraan toe ging. Niet aan te raden voor kinderen onder de 10 jaar.

Midden in het historische centrum van Den Haag vindt u de Galerij Prins Willem V. De Galerij is gelegen aan het Buitenhof, op vijf minuten lopen van het Mauritshuis. Een bezoek aan de Galerij is goed te combineren met een bezoek aan het Mauritshuis en/of met een bezoek aan de naastgelegen Gevangenpoort (combi ticket)
De Galerij Prins Willem V wordt wel het verborgen juweel van Den Haag genoemd. Prins Willem V van Oranje-Nassau liet de zaal in 1774 bouwen om er zijn indrukwekkende schilderijenverzameling tentoon te stellen. De wanden hingen - en hangen nog steeds - bomvol, zodat de rijkdom van zijn verzameling goed te zien was.
Nadeel is dat het een beetje veel van het goede is en de schilderijen niet echt tot hun recht komen.
De Galerij Prins Willem V wordt wel het verborgen juweel van Den Haag genoemd. Prins Willem V van Oranje-Nassau liet de zaal in 1774 bouwen om er zijn indrukwekkende schilderijenverzameling tentoon te stellen. Gewoon doen. Deze galerij geeft een inkijkje in hoe vroeger naar kunst werd gekeken. Pronken, zicht op andere oorden en lachen met Jan Steen. Verrassend en leuk om even binnen te lopen.
