Great Egyptian exhibition. The museum is full of hidden gems. Beautiful place and artefacts. Large variety of things to see. I would advise to allow several hours for a thorough visit. Enchanting place .

Het doel van ons bezoek was de Egyptische collectie. Die bleek interessant te zijn, maar een situering van de verschillende dynastieën ontbrak. De beschrijvingen bij de objecten zijn ook erg summier. Bij de objecten bevond zich doorgaans wel een QR-code. Mogelijk dat daarmee meer informatie over de objecten te vinden was, maar daarover werd ons aan de receptie niets gezegd. Overigens is het een gedoe om telkens opnieuw zo'n code in te moeten scannen en dan op een klein scherm de info te lezen. Dat hebben we dus nagelaten te doen. Ook geen verwijzingen te bespeuren naar de grote grafmonumenten, vooral dan de piramides (tot grote teleurstelling van mijn kleindochters). Een en ander maakt dat de collectie wat in het ijle hangt.
De maquette van het Oude Rome is indrukwekkend. Het touchscreen, waarop naar ik vermoed info over bepaalde kenmerkende gebouwen opgeroepen kon worden, functioneerde echter niet.

Impressive buildings and interiors. Several interesting exhibits (Roman times, art from the Americas, Egypt, China, ..…). Entrance is free! With an excellent book shop. A 400 meter walk to Autoworld where you will find an Impressive collection (many Ferraris). (nice bar/restaurant you can go to without paying the entrance fee). And, the surroundings: these historical buildings are in a nice setting, one if the few beautiful parts of Brussels. At the moment there’s an exhibition inside the museum of Japanese prints : Shin Hanga (entrance fee). Over 200 beautiful pictures and explanations on the time consuming technique to make them.

Excellent! Not very famous museum for some reason, but it is impossible to miss. Take your time and go early, I spent 4 hours there and could stay longer.

Great collection of art from all over the world, with some truly unique pieces.
A huge range from porcelain, statues, painting, clothing, architecture etc. providing something for everyone. To truly appreciate everything you could be there all day!
History & context provided although not all signs had English.
Staff were friendly & helpful on arrival and spoke good English.

This is a world class museum. I am not sure why it’s not much higher on the list of places to visit in Brussels. The Islamic section is beautiful. The only issue is that descriptions are in only French and Flemish.

This was the best part of the exhibition! I spent a good two hours. The exhibitions are mainly in English and have options for English subtitles

Ciao Graziella, scusa se ti rispondo un pò in ritardo, nel frattempo sei già andata a visitare il Museo!
Personalmente ho trovato il museo poco accattivante, di una concezione un pò vecchia, poco coinvolgente in generale. Poi alcune sezioni erano allestite, a mio parere meglio. Per quanto riguarda la sezione dedicata all'Egitto a me non è piaciuta, però non sono una esperta. Sicuramente reperti importanti, sono comunque oggetti di migliaia di anni fa, ma un po monotona. Credo che tutto il museo abbia bisogno di un ringiovanimento.
