Al jaren kom ik met mijn groepen wijnliefhebbers bij dit biodynamische wijnhuis. We worden altijd vriendelijk en professioneel ontvangen door Victor Conçeiçao en rondgeleid over het prachtige terrein. De wijngaard is in een halve cirkel aangelegd op de top van een heuveltje, vanwaar je Evora ziet liggen met zijn kathedraal. Uitstekende wijn van de syrah-druif en de viognier-druif, eigen kurkeiken, groentetuin, koeien en soms zwarte varkentjes.

On a short break in Evora we thought a visit to a vineyard was a must. Our hotel made all the arrangement so we were unaware what we were about to experience. In fact what my wife and I got was a wonderful one-to-one tour of the Dona Dorinda estate, vines and cork trees. Fatima and Zara (estate dog) gave us a thorough account of the winemaking process and also explained the aims of Dona Dorinda. We ended by sampling the wine under the shade of the large tree in the courtyard. They are small by comparison to other vineyards (only 3800 bottles a year) but take great pride in delivering fine organic produce. Thank you Fatima (and Zara) and good luck with this years harvest (15th/16th September).

Visited the winery end of August 2018. It is located a short distance driving from old town of Evora. Our host was the winemaker Victor who spent almost 2 hours explaining to us the concept of organic wine making and offering us the tasting of Dona Dorinda Reserva. This visit turned out to be one of the highlights of our wine touring of Portugal.
Definitely recommend a visit to this hospitable winery. Thank you again Victor.

We have visited many wineries both in the US and Portugal and this was by far the best experience. A beautiful property with amazing wines and personal attention unmatched to anything we have experienced before. Our tour was with Fatima and I can’t say enough about our experience; she was attentive and extremely personable and a pleasure to deal with. I wish I could take more of this wine back to the US with us, we will definitely be back!

Dit wijnhuis reageert niet op tijd voor een verzoek tot bezichtiging van hun wijngaard. Ook telefonisch zijn ze niet bereikbaar. We hebben nog voor het ingang gestaan en ook daar werd op ons aanbellen niet gereageerd. Dus zijn we terug naar Evora gegaan. Uiteindelijk een uur later kregen we antwoord dat ze geen rondleidingen konden verzorgen.

Estivemos hoje na vinícola e tivemos uma excelente tarde. O lugar é muito bonito. Fomos recepcionados pelo Victor, que nos acolheu muito bem e nos transmitiu incontáveis informações sobre a produção ecológica dos seus vinhos. Fomos passear pelas vinhas e conhecemos melhor a quinta. A prova foi bem feliz com um vinhos de cor linda e deliciosos. Saímos com uma garrafa de cada vinho para casa.

Lors de notre escale a Évora, nous avons été reçu. il on prit le temps de faire visité et même si nous n'avions pas de réservation! Des passionné ou la qualité n'a pas de compromit. Leurs vin est exceptionnel, a l'image du travail et du savoir faire de Victor et son équipe. Vous faites partie de nos plus beau souvenir, de notre voyage au Portugal!

Anyone visiting Evora should make an appointment to visit Dona Dorinda, which is located just a few minutes taxi ride from city center. Our tour guide and hostess was very kind and gracious, and she was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines produced at this property. In addition, the gently rolling hills of grapes with the city of Evora in the backdrop made for unique and gorgeous photos.
As for the wine, it's quality over quantity. You can taste 2 red wines here, and they are both produced in very limited quantities. These red wines stand up to some of the more expensive bottles that we purchase regularly from Napa, and they are packaged in lovely hinged wooden boxes, perfect for gift-giving to yourself or others. While we never ever buy wine to take home, we had to make an exception in this case. The wine was just that good for the price point, and we knew we couldn't buy it at home (which is getting rarer and rarer these days).
In summary, the wine tour and tasting was a highlight of trip. We definitely recommend it, especially if you'd like to purchase something nicer that you won't be able to find at home. A bottle of wine from Dona Dorinda is truly a unique gift!

Mit Voranmeldung (dringend empfohlen) wurden wir vom winemaker persönlich empfangen und durch das kleine, wunderhübsche Weingut geführt. Uns wurde alles erklärt über die biologisch angebauten Reben, die Korkeichen, ihre Olivenbäume etc. Er hat sich sehr viel Zeit genommen. Zum Schluss setzten wir uns vor die kleine Kapelle und probierten einen ihrer beiden Weine. Das kleine Weingut setzt voll auf qualitativ gute Produkte. Ein lohnenswerter Besuch wenn man in Evora ist.
