Fabulous bike tour through the countryside of the Algarve. Marco was an outstanding guide who took us along quiet traffic free roads as we explored the coast and small villages. Of course, our stop for coffee and pastry along the way was welcome.
Marco delivered the bikes to us at our hotel, along with nice waterbottles and helmets. The bikes were in great condition and a pleasure to ride.
Highly recommeneded. Hope we can find time to return for some longer bike journeys

Found this gem bike tour company on line. Booked over the phone as I had lots of questions. 5 day tour is 3 full days of cycling + 2 days of transfers.
Well organized. Good quality hotels. Fairly clear instructions for the self guided tours. Helpful staff (had to order an e-bike on day 2 after my spouse hurt his knee).
3 day algarve bike trip option doable on regular bike for non pro biking 50 year olds who are in shape.
Definitely would rebook with them again.

Top quality bikes, hotels, communication, transfers. We'll be back! From the earliest communications with Angie, to the final drop-off in Loule, this company was great to deal with. The route matched our bikes and tires. Lots of cobblestones, dirt roads, and secondary paved roads. The GPS was necessary, and it was well loaded with the intricacies of the route. We chose to carry our own luggage by packing lightly. All in all, a memorable trip, perfect weather, and a fine bunch of people @ Algarve Bike Holidays!

Wg. Streikwarnung konnte ich nicht sicher sein, pünktlich anzukommen und reservierte daher nicht vorab. Das war kein Problem. Ich kam dann doch rechtzeitig an, an besuchte den Laden drei Tage vor dem Buchungstag, um mir ein passendes Rad auszusuchen. Fragen zu Routenempfehlungen könnten ich am Buchungstag noch besprechen.
Am Buchungstag wurde mir dann gesagt, dass das 58er Trek doch jemand anderes bekommen hätte und ich noch zwischen einem 57er bzw. 58er KTM wählen könnte. Ich entscheid mich nach Probefahrt für das 57er und bekam noch eine Leihtrinkflasche gratis dazu (hatte meine vergessen). Die Routenempfehlung war sehr pauschal (Alle Richtungen ok, möglichst aber die N125 meiden, da hier ziemlich dichter Verkehr herrscht. Ich hatte mir vorher einer 85km Tour mit knapp 1000 Höhenmetern in Komoot herausgesucht, was ich übrigens nur empfehlen kann, da man so auf schöne Routen geführt wird, die man sonst nie und nimmer finden würde!). Während der Fahrt stellte ich fest, das die Bremsen unterschiedlich eingestellt waren (kurze bzw. langer Hebelweg). Das hätte man für ein perfektes Fahrerlebnis noch gleichmäßig einstellen können, genau wie die Schaltung, die die Kette in den kleinen Gängen am Umwerfer schrammen ließ. Daher ein Punkt Abzug, ansonsten wäre es ein excellent geworden. Insgesamt kann ich den Verleih aber definitiv weiterempfehlen. (Die Mehrheit der Mitarbeiter scheint englischstämmig zu sein, daher am besten auch in Englisch kommunizieren).

Marc our guide was very good and was very pleasant with a great sense of humour ! We truly enjoyed the trails , some technical and hills which was at times challenging. Thank you kindly.

What a fantastic experience we have had with this company so far. We have just completed our second guided tour and have also enjoyed the Sunday social outings. Special thanks and well earned kudos to Marco who knows the area so well and is eager to share the best of the it with even the most novice of cyclists while keeping the more competent group members happy with some off road challenges. Cannot praise these guys enough!

I recently finished a self guided cycling trip with three girlfriends with Algarve Bike Holidays and it was fantastic. We chose to do the Algarve Coastal Route and the scenery, accommodations and communication with Algarve Bike Holidays was fantastic.
I would say that our group was in moderately good shape and, while some of days later on in the trip were a little more challenging due to the terrain, overall it was very doable for anyone who has at least moderate cycling abilities.
We were one of the only groups to do the tour in August because it’s VERY hot, but we are all from Alaska and still survived! The coast has a nice breeze!
The bikes were all great, too. We didn’t have a single issue with them. I’d highly recommend this tour, it’s one we will never forget! And we’d like to give a personal shoutout to Angie, who was so helpful in getting this trip set up for us!

Had a week off in Albufeira with wife and kids. Was getting itchy feet, fancied a bike ride, and saw this place hired bikes and offered guided/group rides.
I popped in on Monday morning and booked a group ride for the Friday. Great price and bike/guide included.
Was a group of 4 including our guide Mark. Lovely bloke, very good rider!
Early start. We drove out to a area just outside of Portimao with bikes then headed off into the hills. All on road btw.
Roads were great quality and very quiet, hit some lovely punchy hills pretty quickly then headed up to Monchique. From there the climb up to Foia started. around 7.3km at around 6% avg gradient up to 902mtrs...the highest point in the Algarve.
Then headed back to Monchique for a coffee and headed back to van.
All in all was out for around 4 hours and did around 65km.
Would thoroughly recommend, I'm tempted to do a cycling specific holiday with them now!

Algarve Bike Holidays is a top notch organization. We were on the 7 night tour from Vila Real San Antonio to Sagres. The equipment was in excellent condition and the hotel arrangements were first class. The route planning provided for a good diversity of terrain and sites.
We had an unfortunate accident, when my wife fell and broke her wrist, and we had to cut our tour short. The staff quickly arranged to pick me and the bikes up, and helped me arrange for a rental car. They even supported us several days later with transport to the train station in Louie.
Fred, Angus and William take pride in what they do and made sure we had a positive experience. I highly recommended Algarve Bike Holidays for your touring in the Algarve.
