Tour of Roman Ruins

This tour was amazing!!! Don’t miss out on this trip. A visit to Coimbra is not complete without a visit to the Roman ruins!!
Our guide was Alfredo and he was extremely knowledgeable of the area and history, very friendly, was able to answer all of our questions and gave us just the right amount of time at each of the stops.
Thanks for the great tour.

Amazingly well preserved ancient ruins. Great guide. Worth every penny.

Alfredo was a wonderful guide - very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the Romans in what is now Portugal. Despite foul weather, we had an unforgettable experience and learned a great deal. Conimbriga knocked our socks off!

Must visit for Roman history buffs.

Alfredo and his tour was outstanding! The tour was conducted in the rain and there wasn’t a place we missed. He knows his history and was proud to share the Roman history of Portugal. Alfredo is personable, funny, knowledgeable and informative.

Coimbriga is outstanding. We have visited several other Roman sites in Italy, Spain and Portugal and found this one exceptional.

It’s a small group (max of 4) in a 4x4 vehicle. Very fun, quick drive between the sites that includes interactive museums that Alfredo walks you through and explains history.

We highly recommend this tour for those of you who have great interest in “the Empire.”

Studio ghibli village

Was a bit downcast but beautiful regardless. If you haven’t toured one of the rural oldest villages of Portugal this is a must! It definitely felt like straight out of a Studio Ghibli film

Get out of the City

This is a great half day getaway into the mountains above Coimbra to visit Schist villages that were constructed about 500 years ago. The guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable about the area and the history of what we were seeing. I highly recommend this tour if you’re interested in learning about history and culture of the area.

Excelente passeio em coimbra

Apesar de pouco conhecido, é um passeio rico em história e muito legal de se acompanhar. a visita dura de 2 a 3 horas e o museu tem coisas interessantes

Enjoying forest views and nature

Had a lovely experience in Lousa mount looking for wildlife. Lucky enough to spotted a wild boar with young, a red deer, doe, fawn and bucks. Visited a schist village.

We had an exceptionally great time on our trip! Our guides were awesome and very knowledgeable about the area! They took through the mountains and we saw deer and wild boar! Very exciting. Then they took us to a shale village. What a wonderful experience!thanks you, we will recommend this trip to others!

So great to have a knowledgeable guide—fabulous tour of an ancient site.

Alfredo was very knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. We (small group of 3 people) also had time to explore on our own somewhat. Great trip. Highly recommend.
