Spectacular Day

We had an absolutely awesome time on this trip. Our guide Luis was exceptional and helped my daughter on some tough parts of the hike. He was patient and cheerful. We did three hikes over 10 hours, some over slippery rocks and rough terrain. I think the guides are excellent and tailor the trip based on the participants. Our hike was more on the strenuous side, but we enjoyed it. Just know that it you’re with a fit group, the hikes may be more demanding. Overall, an epic day. Thanks!

Into the wild of Geres national Park, into the life of wolf, men and Luis

Sometimes dreams come true. With 3 friends we booked the national park tour of Porto adventure.
It was one of the best outdoor experiences ever made. With a landrover we drove into the world of the mountainpeople, iberian wolves, goats, lagoons, and beautiful nature. Our guide Luis was really excellent. He knows everything about the park, the nature, the habits. He showed us wild strawberries, saffron. And after a little walk we could swim in paradise like lagoons and jump safely from some little rocks in the water. We tasted pure local food in a mountain village, visited an old olive oil mill.
All of us 3 felt 20 years younger and fully relaxed after this beautiful day.
In our opinion a must do if you visit porto.

Highlight of my Portugal Trip

Amazing tour! The highlight of my 1 week trip to Portugal!
Miguel was an amazing guide. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and charismatic. The tour company as a whole has great respect for the park and the people who live there and it felt very special to be able to visit.

Note: The roads in the park are very bumpy, so if you get carsick, you definitely need to pack some Gravol. If you don't get carsick it's a super fun ride.

À faire absolument!

C’était un expérience incroyable! Les vues étaient magnifiques, notre guide Felix était super et j’ai eu la chance de me faire de nouveaux amis! Des souvenirs qui seront à jamais gravés dans ma mémoire!
Pour une expérience hors du commun, soyez préparés à vous baigner dans des lagoons très froid mais incroyable. Il y a des hikes qui demande un peu d’expérience et une bonne forme physique. Ça a valu tous les efforts.

Thanks for a great trip. Luis and Diogo arrived on time, knew everything about the local area and made for a fun day. The kayaking was awesome, (the fire water less so ;D) and the quality and abundance of the food was really unexpected. Topped off with a freezing waterfall plunge. Thanks to Catarina for answering all the questions pre trip. Would definetly recommend this trip and especially these guides

Discover Portugal's natural heart

If this was the only activity I did in Porto I would go home happy. Luis is a knowledgeable and empathetic guide. He works to make sure everyone is having a good time and is safe. We visited beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes, enjoyed a delicious and generous lunch and visited a historic village and learned a bit about village life. We also were able to help collect acorns to start new trees and contribute in a small way to keeping Penera-Geres park a healthy ecosystem. During the day it never felt like Luis was doing a job. He made us feel like friends who he was sharing one of his favorite places with. This is a very special tour managed in a respectful and regenerative way. It sets a high bar for any future tours I will take! Thank you Luis and Oporto Adventure tours!

Good but not great
The description on Tripadvisor says waterfalls, as in plural waterfalls. We only saw one waterfall the whole day and my expectations thought we were going to see more from this due to how they described the tour.

Also, the hike to the one waterfall is not for the faint hearted. Very steep, very slippery and overgrown with shrubbery. My legs were cut with almost every step taken due to the prickly bushes that are all through the track. Made it uncomfortable to walk and stressful too. If I had been told, I would have worn long pants and shirts to protect myself.

When I came home after the tour my legs were stinging from the cuts and I had to treat with antiseptic cream after showering.
When I also explained how intense the walk to the waterfall was to the guide, the response I got was that he took no notice of this because he does this everyday. Perhaps some more information or consideration for first timers would help.

The guide had lots of energy and enthusiasm. Would have loved if the guide also explained properly how the day was going to go. We kind of just got in the car and when he said get out we had no idea what for and had to always ask.

The kayaking, free swim time at the lake and lunch was great.

Best Porto Experience.

What a great day this was!! It would not have been as fun had it not be for our guide Ricardo's expertise and sense of humor. He made the entire trip and was very attentive to everyone and remebered every single detail.
The waterfalls were so refreshing and the scenery beyond beautiful.
