Top dag met Francisco!

Het was een erg leuke dag!
We werden ruim op tijd opgehaald bij ons hotel om ongeveer 1,5u later aan te komen op de eerste bestemming. We kregen veel informatie van onze gezellige gids Francisco. De lunch was in een restaurant in een klein dorpje, en dit was ook heerlijk! De dag sloten we af met een stop en een hike bij de grootste waterval van de dag. En hier zijn we samen met Francisco nog op ontdekkingstocht geweest om nieuwe paden te ontdekken! Dit was zeker het hoogtepunt van onze dag!

Wow! What a special experience.

Wonderful day with our guide Francisco exploring Peneda-Geres Park. We ended up having a private tour and although it was a very rainy day we had a great time exploring the park and learning about Portugal. Francisco was very knowledgeable and catered the day to our specific interests, which were to be as active as possible. I can't say enough about the 5-course meal for lunch which included a bottle of Green Wine! The afternoon cleared up and the views were unreal! Wonderful day.

All day in Nature!
This was by far one of our favorite tours to do while visiting Porto! We got to spend all day hiking in nature along the Paiva River in the beautiful area of Arouca and walk along the 2nd longest suspension bridge in the world, that connects this river. What could be more exciting than that?!! Our tour guide Rui (Maya) was really friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and everyone else’s on the tour. The food provided was fantastic. Before heading to the suspension bridge we stopped at a local cafe to try authentic egg filled pastries and after the day’s long hike we had an authentic Portuguese lunch that ended with us filling our finished espresso cups with grappa. Truly a memorable and once in a lifetime experience!!

My favorite activity from Portugal trip

Prior to vacationing in Portugal, I was most looking forward to crossing the Arouca Bridge, and I was not the least bit disappointed with this day trip. Our guide, Francisco, was very personable and we really enjoyed having him as our guide. He hiked half of the 5-mile journey through the Paiva Walkways with us, and it was a real pleasure chatting with him throughout. He pointed out some really interesting plants to us, and also shared real insight into Portuguese life, which we truly appreciated. I highly recommend Francisco and this trip to everyone who is interested!

The perfect antidote to the busy city!

We were immersed in nature with countless picturesque views. November perfect time of year to visit as there were few people and mild weather. A botanist’s dream! Our guide Andre was informative and delightful. Highly recommend.

Porto daytrip - Arouca walkways

This was the perfect day trip to get away from the city. My pickup was convenient and on time while the coffee stop and sweets were welcome after an hours drive. The suspension bridge was fun and there was an option to avoid the steep stairs if required. My hilight was the beautiful scenery as we followed alongside the Piava River on a timber boardwalk for 8km. We had perfect Autumn weather, sunshine and a hearty local lunch afterwards. Petito was a great guide and driver, answering any questions. Only downside was I was the only English speaking in group of Spanish.

Great experience

Everything was great. From beginning to start. I was picked up from my airbnb, the tour guide Tiago was wonderfull, very knowledgeable, and always considered the opinion of the group to make decisions about the hikes.

My friends and I had an amazing experience with Detours.
Thank to Diogo, the operations manager, the plan of our Peneda-Gerês National Park Full Day Private Tour in July was successful. He was patient and had good advice to give.
Besides, I’d like to say “thank you” to our tour guide, Pedro. He is humorous and very helpful. We enjoyed the tour with Pedro.
