Dit is gelegen in de buurt van de Akropolis. Het is een mooie groene plek, waar je kan genieten van de rust en verschillende historische bezienswaardigheden: Philopappos Hill (monument), de gevangenis van Socrates enz... Het bezichtigen hiervan is gratis. Goed te combineren wanneer je een bezoek brengt aan de Akropolis. Mooi uitzicht wanneer je de top bereikt waar je ook het monument kan zien.

Sunset stroll

I decided on the spur of the moment to climb up Philopappos Hill on the day I arrived in Athens. It was only a 10 minute uphill walk from my apartment in Koukaki to reach one of the entrances to the park. I read stories about not walking alone but I felt safe up here at 7:00 pm. This is a lovely, relaxing walk in nature right in the city of Athens. Walking on the marble, slippery rock, limestone and narrow cobblestone paths and steps, surrounded by pine and olive trees and viewing the many archeological sites along the way made for an enjoyable and satisfying first day in Athens. Of course my first view of the Parthenon from above the top of the hill , the Aegean Sea, the sprawl of Athens and the beautiful sunset capped it all off. I spent just over an hour here but could have easily spent a few more hours.

A really nice site and much less crowded area. Really nice walk up the hill (via the Prison of Socrates) to see the Muses monument and some lovely views. A nice stop off

Nice area to walk around

Really nice hill to go wander around. Beautiful view of Acropolis and Parthenon. On the way here you can also see the prison of Socrates.

Philopappou Hill offers amazing views of Athens and the Acropolis, especially in the late afternoon. The hill is crisscrossed by walking paths and is a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of Athens.

アクロポリスを一望できる

アクロポリスの入場ゲートのあたりから、逆方向に坂を登って行くと行けます。遊歩道はありまずか、石畳だったり、ぬかるんでいる道も多く、雨の後などは特に注意が必要です。
それでもアクロポリスを一望できる素晴らしい展望が広がりますので、時間と体力があればぜひ立ち寄ることをおすすめします。

Hystorical walk trough the ancient story of Athene. The landscape of Athene is amazing. Buy water or other drink before start your tour, because the only vendor is very expensive

This Hill was such a surprise! It’s a leisurely 15 minute walk up the hill and you are rewarded with INCREDIBLE views of the Acropolis, city, and port! Please don’t skip this on your trip!

Another free attraction in Athens. Beautiful views of the city and less challenging climb up comparing to Lycabettus. On the way up you can visit the prison of Socrates.

Amazing hill to see the sun go down. The surroundings are also worth exploring. The marble pathway up the hill was constructed in the 1950's, with neat decorations. Don't miss the tiny church of St. Demetrius Loumpadiaris as you go down.
