Hello LeahK. To be honest, I wasn't surprised by your review as the first thing you mentioned over the phone was that you would "destroy us" and write a negative review on TripAdvisor. The wonderful thing about TripAdvisor is that we can also respond under a review and actually tell our side of the story. Your tour (By the way we had another 3 people booked that morning) started at 9:30 AM. Unfortunately, even though our guide was feeling fine the previous day, he woke up that morning feeling sick. That was an hour prior to your tour. Our guide did a rapid test which was negative and called me around 9:00 AM to inform me about it. As we had many Covid cases the previous days in Chania and even though he was on his way to the meeting point, I advised him to visit a clinic and do a PCR test just to be on the safe side. Unfortunately, he was eventually diagnosed with Covid and home restricted. Immediately, I tried calling all participants as the time was already 9:30 AM to inform them of the sudden emergency and offer to do the tour the next day with another guide of ours. I did apologize for the inconvenience but honestly, there was nothing else I could do last minute and from what you can see from all our online reviews, we are a company that honors our customers and we never "stand up" people! We hope to have the chance to serve you in the future and show you our Cretan hospitality. Safe travels
