It was a great experience! There was a little piano in the beginning, but then there was real action.
We were picked up relatively early and taken to the next stop. Little introduction to driving and then off you go. Dangers we are everything -from bumpy road to normal road- as long as always be in motion. We have seen a lot of nature (also a lot of fallow deer such as deer and magnificent deer). The advantage of riding with the guide is that you can ask questions all the time while driving and get a little background information. If he's funny and in a good mood you definitely have a lot of fun! Of course, you can also drive yourself, but so the person who would have driven sees something more (to ride with the guide, however, you may only be third or less). Lunch was very good and there was also a nice view. Shortly before the end there was also a small swim stop. It was really nice as you were alone on the beach with your group.
We had a super friendly guide. Thank you Alex for this very adventurous ride!

A very cool Tour. You drive off-road and you can see beautiful spots of the island, which you would probably never visit without this Tour. You make stops with amazing views and the guide tells you interesting facts about the nature. Even the breaks where you can eat and drink have such nice views. We really loved this trip. Cheers Simon 😉

We went on the Bumpy Rhodes safari of northern Rhodes , having booked with the local agency near our hotel. The tour was pretty much 'as it said on the tin' and on the day of our trip there were about 10 vehicles driven in convoy across some pretty mountainous territory. For those who like driving in/through challenging conditions/environments this could be right up your street. It's a long day though and, start to finish, took over 8 hours. On a hot dusty day, the driving required serious concentration. The brief swim towards the end of the trip was a relief from the conditions and welcome chance to cool down.
We can't fault the company on this but if booking through an agency, bear in mind that while you get offered the change to self drive (it's not compulsory) if you choose to be passengers you do NOT automatically get an experienced local guide/driver to be in charge of your vehicle. Ending up as passengers in a vehicle driven by a non English speaking tourist was not what we had envisaged. Outside of the vehicle he smoked like a chimney (it's not permitted IN the vehicles) so we had to contend with the whiff of his cigarette smoke too.
Driver license details were taken for each driver before setting off (and I presume the form they had to sign signed included some kind of waiver/acknowledgement that conditions would be challenging) but there was no questions asked of and information provided for passengers on the day. We hadn't thought about it until too late so had no idea what kind of insurance coverage was in place and where we would have stood if our driver had had a crash with us in the vehicles .
if you can satisfy yourself re the 'small print' and feel comfortable driving a 4 x 4 for long periods of time over difficult terrain this could be fun. if you just want to be a passenger, make sure that you fully understand what you might be letting yourself in for.

Thank you for your review. I regularly wonder why guests write such long reviews, but during the trip they don't discuss anything with our very approachable guides.
If you would look on our website you see we offer 3 options. 1 The Self Drive safari. (that is the one you booked) Most of our guests like to drive themselves, but we do also take non driving clients on this tour.
2 Our safari with our professional driver or 3, if you would be with a large family or group of friends, our huge VM90 cabrio private.
I am pretty sure if you would have asked one of our guides if he/she could be your driver they would have arranged that, because our guides have always 2 seats for passengers and if needed, space for 6 non driving clients on the Self drive safari.
In Greece passengers are considered "third party" in case of any accident, so this insurance is good.
We don't really have a 'small print' but I agree with you that it is important to know, for what you make a reservation.
I am happy you enjoyed your trip, which would be even better if you discussed this during the trip.

We took this trip based on the very good reviews, but we were very disappointed with the trip. We thought that we will be actually visiting villages and wildlife by feet during the stops, but really no. 1st stop was to take a coffee / beverage, then 1 stop for view (but not that excited), then for eating and then at 40min stop at beach to swim. For us, nothing really special, and my kids did not really enjoyed the trip. For 250€, we were expected really more.
Guides were really professional and friendly. We just did not enjoy the tour that is not worth the money for us.

Hi, 2 reviews for the same day. A 5 star and your 2 stars. Pretty harsch to call our tour deceiving when these are your assumptions of what will happen during the tour. It is nowhere written that we will be visiting villages or trying to find wildlife on foot. You won't find that experience in any of the reviews. The safari is not about the stops, it is about what is in between!

Just back from this trip and the whole family really enjoyed it. Driving the little Jimney on some great off road tracks! Stopping first at a little rest stop (traditional Greek) then the next is a traditional Greek taverna where the hosts couldn’t do more for you.
Finished off with a dip in the sea to cool off
Fully recommended and bit shout out the Simos, Alex the hospitable guides and Matteo for the booking information and trip details

This trip booked through our tour operator. Here very poorly informed so we only found out a number of things on the spot such as being split up as a family. I was pretty *** about that.
Simon and Cecile have done everything to make it unforgettable for us. Simon is a fantastic Guide and a hugely nice person anyway. The ride was bumpy, dusty and hot but we enjoyed it. Seen nice places you wouldn't otherwise see soon. Simone and Cecile work very hard to make the tour go well for which our Rating. The stops we found in nice places, just the mass tourism out. We definitely recommend him and had a very nice day.

The trip was fantastic! Our guide, Alex, was great at explaining things and telling us about the areas we explored. It was great to get off the main roads and see the beautiful scenery, and the actual off-roading was brilliant - our seven year old son said it was heaven!!

Het was een geweldige Jeepsafari.
Met Simos als gids en chauffeur.
Het wist veel te vertellen over het eiland en zijn historie. Mooie routes over hobbelige wegen (de naam van het bedrijf zegt het al). Alleen de ex militaire Iveco VM90 heeft al veel bekijks. Met zijn lage gearing komt hij overal boven.
Daarnaast op heerlijke plekken gegeten en gedronken. Met als afsluiter een duik in de zee.

Hello Helen, We have a pick-up right in front of Lindos Princess Beach Hotel. We have a beautiful tour in the South of the Island, driving through the best nature the South has to offer. Some villages we visit are Profilia, Sianna and Monolithos. But we spend our time more off-road!

Hi Amelia, if you book this trip to see wildlife you could be disappointed. This is more to enjoy the landscapes, the off-road driving and discovering the inland of Rhodes. We encounter plenty of goats, sheep, lizards on the rocks and an occasional snake. The guide could tell you about noisy insects and a deer could jump away.

Bonjour, pvero17. Que voudriez-vous savoir sur cette attraction ? Bonjour, sur le site, il est indiqué que le repas n'est pas compris dans le tarif. L'arrêt du midi est dans un restaurant ? Les tarifs sont corrects ? Est-il possible de pique-niquer ? Pas de précisions sur d'éventuels taris enfants?

Restaurace je extra ale za super cenu ca. 11€ jídlo a pití. a když je hezké počasí tak je piknik venku.

are they forward facing jeeps on all trips

Hello,
All our cars have forward seats. Jeeps is a misleading word though. Our cars are Iveco's, a size bigger than a Land Rover defender. Soon we will also have them in a cabrio version.
They seat comfortable, with a single chair for everyone, 3 point seatbelts and with an excellent view around!

All our cars are manual and the tour requires experience with a manual gearbox. If not, we can do the driving for you. Book as passenger on our Jimny's, or our XXL Iveco 4x4's
