You should check with the owners of Taxi in Volos, they are very experienced and will tell you what is possible. I frankly don't think you can do both if you are going to be in Volos at 9 AM. It takes more than an hour to get to the monasteries. You should see at least 2 monasteries after going all that way - in my opinion. We did the monasteries in Meteora and Mastriniska in one day but we left the port in Volos at 7 AM and got back to our ship around 4 PM to give you an idea. We saw three monasteries and spent about 45 minutes in Mastriniska. Hope this helps you out. Enjoy your trip it's gorgeous!
